    I had a very disappointing experience with the Petco staff first thing in the morning. I had a grooming drop-off scheduled for 8:45am. When I arrived, the doors were locked, so I stood outside for about six minutes and even called to check in. The phone was still ringing when the employee finally opened the door at 8:56. What I wasn’t told right away was that the groomer had called out for the day, which is completely understandable. Instead, the employee immediately accused me of being 10 minutes late. She insisted my appointment was at 9:00am, while I explained it was for 8:45am and that I had been waiting outside. She then told me they would have to cancel anyway because I was “late,” even though I was standing right at the door. When my husband came up to see what was going on, the employee continued arguing, saying we weren’t on time, that we didn’t answer their call (a call I never received), and refusing to clarify what number they had used. I was holding my phone at that moment, actively trying to call them. If the situation had been explained honestly, that the groomer wasn’t there, I would have completely understood. Instead, we were met with defensiveness, accusations, and poor communication. My only feedback is this: please provide your staff with better customer service training. A little transparency and courtesy would have gone a long way. I like the actual groomer, but the employee that addressed us was horribly rude. I won't be going back.
