I was confused and baffled. I Asked; me? I never met her before. Her customer was giggling, turns out they are friends. I ignored it as the nice lady with glasses called me to next cashier and checked out my items. then the friend/customer called me stupid as she was finalizing their transaction. I could not help to feel harassed and verbally abused. Started thinking it was because I’m Hispanic.

The store manager took the birds from me but, instead of giving me my money back, gave me a gift card without my consent. I politely asked for either my cash refund or my birds back, but the manager refused and behaved very rudely, even forcing me to leave the store. This is unacceptable behavior and very unprofessional. I hope Petco management reviews this incident seriously and trains their staff to treat customers with respect

The Petco employee asked what size my tank was, I told her the size, and she just said really rudely that she wouldnt sell me any fish in their store because my tank wasn't big enough and walked away. Kind of ironic that on the way out, we saw half dead beta fish floating on their sides in their tiny bowls :( Seeing as their store is completely empty, I think they should work on improvinh their customer service, such as maybe kindly offer to show me other aquariums, etc. Definitely lost a customer today.
