They won't let you cancel your subscription if your pet dies! You will keep getting a monthly charge to remind you of of your painful loss. Do they need to? No. Do they care? No. Straight up evil. After 9 great years I had to put my cat down earlier this month; she was the sweetest cat I'd ever owned. Obviously I was heartbroken. The staff at Banfield were wonderful throughout the death process. This 1 star review is for the corporate ownership who clearly only care about the bottom line and not a grieving pet owner. I had been on the Wellness + plan for years as my cat needed occasional dental work, which just renewed in November. When I contacted Banfield to cancel the policy after my cat died, they told me I needed to pay the remaining 9 months of the Wellness Plan, despite the fact that my cat is no longer alive to be seen and treated. I was flabbergasted - their reasoning was because I had used the plan benefits (procedure discounts, office visits) for 3 months, so I needed to pay the full plan amount. I obviously wouldn't have signed up for the full year if I knew my cat was going to die so soon. To top it off, my cat was too sick to receive any dental care so I never used the "Plus" part of my plan. I asked if they would at least lower the regular Wellness plan but apparently their "system doesn't allow that". I feel taken advantage of in a time of grief. When your pet dies, it feels evil to keep charging grieving owners for services they obviously won't be using. Now I'll get a painful reminder of my loss every month when I see the monthly Wellness charge hit my credit card. I understand this is a business and cancelling a plan would normally require paying the full year, but the death of a pet feels like this should be an obvious exception. I'm leaving my multi-year experience with Banfield with a very sour taste and I do not recommend anyone give their money to this company; it's clear they will do anything they can to suck more money from you before you go.

Have taken several of my pets here. The veterinarians and all staff are kind, professional and treat my pet as it it is their own.

Do not trust this place and Do not let them handle your pets. Go to your local vets if you want your pets to be safe and in the loop.

Until recently, I had a mostly positive experience with the Federal Way clinic. The front desk staff in particular have always been kind, helpful, and professional. My dog has never acted scared when visiting the vet. Unfortunately, what should have been a routine visit has left me feeling betrayed, and my trust in the clinic has been shattered. As part of the Wellness Plan, my dog received his annual dental cleaning. He was brought in healthy and returned with a skin infection in the exact rectangular area where his leg had been shaved. Initially, the area appeared red and blotchy. After several days with no improvement, I brought him back with the concern that he had a skin infection (like Barber's Itch) and was told it was razor burn. I was given wipes and advised to use bitter spray. After another week, only part of the area improved while the rest worsened. I returned again and was then told it was he had razor sensitivity. This explanation does not align with my dog’s history as this is not the first time his leg has been shaved, and he has never experienced this type of reaction before. I am not seeking names, nor am I asking for anyone to be disciplined; I understand human error happens especially when you are booked with appointments before year end and working around the holidays. However, it is clear that something went wrong. Either the clippers were not properly cleaned between uses, or the area was not appropriately cleaned after shaving. What is most concerning is that I feel like I am being gaslighted into believing that this was my fault. Over the past several weeks, both my dog and I have endured unnecessary discomfort and stress as I’ve tried everything possible to help him heal. At no point during either follow-up visit was he prescribed antibiotics, despite the infection worsening. I am asking for accountability and for this situation to be made right at the clinic’s expense, not mine. I've spent more than enough on medicine, a cone, gauze, medical tape and a post surgery sleeve for his leg to cover the wound.
