My dog was markedly limping after twisting and jumping from a height of 3-4 feet. I waited a day or two to see if it would resolve on its own. It did not, so I took her to Chuckanut Valley Vet because they said they could do a no fear exam, which they did. However, after learning I had pet insurance, the Dr. really pushed for me to get surgery for my dog ($8K), insisting there was a lot of muscle atrophy in her leg. After seeing my regular vet, they suggested a more conservative approach and today my dog is no longer limping and did not get the surgery. I am happy we went with a more conservative approach, and did not get the surgery, since she is fine today. Also, I no longer check the "Do whatever you need to do box," because I think some vets take advantage of people.

Absolutely amazing from the outside then going in was pleasant with a nice large waiting room with hot and cold water, cups and tea bags. The small retail display was lovely with many choices. The staff are friendly and very well versed in communication with a lot of knowledge.

I took my dog here after seeing another vet in Bellingham. After spending several hundreds of dollars on tests, the old vet just said 'inconclusive'. So I took my dog to Chuckanut Valley where he saw Dr . Denise Ruark. She was so caring and did a complete exam on Sparky which included tests on his blood, organs, etc. She gave him a prescription and he is getting better every day. I'm so pleased that I finally found my dog a vet that I can trust to give him the best care. I highly recommend Chuckanut Valley Veterinary and Dr. Ruark.

I cannot say enough about Dr Denise Ruark,Sharon,Amy and Jena ! They bent over backwards to do emergency surgery for my corgi Willow. They worked through lunch breaks, gave support ,care and understanding to our family. Loved on Willow ,did an amazing job with surgery, explaining aftercare, a follow up phone call from the vet herself .This is the old school care of people loving animals ,and doing whatever it takes to treat them. Money was not the concern, taking care of Willow was.I highly recommended using Chuckanut Veterinary clinic for All your animals needs. They saved my girl and our family will always be so grateful!!
