I have never had such a horrible experience with Banfield. I used them because of their puppy plan and because I had a great experience with Banfield and their plans with my previous dog. But this time around I cannot wait to get finished with them. Specifically Burlington location was where I had a horrible experience.
I’ve been trying since November 2025 to get my puppy (at the time 6months old) spayed. The vet assistant we had was horrible, she showed no patience with my puppy and the way she spoke and interacted with her behind a closed door away from me was unacceptable. But when she could not get anything done because my puppy would t let her near her the assistant came back to the room and asked me to put a muzzle on my puppy but did not help even after asking her to help me. She skills working with puppies was not there.
Then they told me they could not do the spay and cancelled my appt and could not schedule her until three months later that appt came up and we could not go through with it because she just finished her first heat. Because I had to reschedule once again they could not get me rescheduled until end of may. I had to call around to other Banfields to get her scheduled sooner than May.
In other words I have been very unsatisfied with the service that was provided and even though their puppy plan is great I would not recommend Banfield to anyone.

I wouldn’t be giving them a one, but I want to write a review. I’ve had mixed experiences at the Burlington location, but yesterday was the worst. I took my dog in to have his teeth cleaned at 7:30 am. I was the first one there, put into a room immediately they came in, took my dog and put him in a kennel, I explained to them before this appointment that both my dogs are never kenneled so it’s hard on them. They worked with me with my blind heeler when I had her teeth done two weeks prior they kept her with me. They sedated her in the room with me and it was a much better experience for her. Yesterday I explained to them twice that I would sit in the room with my dog until they were ready to sedate him. I could hear him crying. He’s 11 years old and this is traumatic for him. I was told that they would call me as soon as he started to wake up to go have a coffee and that it could be about three hours. I did get a coffee and sat in my jeep. my appointment was at 7:30. It was 1230 when I went into Banfield to check on the status of my dog . The receptionist put me in a room and the veterinarian came in explained to me that she felt he had a crack in his tooth and that it should probably be pulled. She made that assumption just by looking in his mouth no x-rays hadn’t cleaned his teeth so my dog sat in the kennel for five hours crying without even being seen. Why did I go in at 7:30 in the morning for him to be pushed back by two other dogs before him she told me that they wouldn’t get to him till after lunch. The veterinarian wanted me to reschedule after I took the day off from work medicated my dog before I brought him in the night before and waited two months for this appointment. This is not professional, and it is not fair to my dog or any other animal that has to be kennel that long for no reason. I made it clear that I wanted to be with my dog. They could’ve called me and told me two other dogs went before him and I would’ve came and got my dog or at least sat with him and waited I was sitting in the parking lot! I canceled both my wellness plans. It might sound good and look good on paper, but the actual service and the care for the animals isn’t worth it.
