  I recently moved to the area and have always purchased my pets’ needs (and wants!) from Petco over the years. I’ve had two notable experiences at this location—one very positive, and one a bit frustrating. First, I want to give credit where it’s due. A kind employee named Ryan went out of his way to set aside a basking bulb for me just five minutes before closing when mine suddenly stopped working. He was incredibly helpful and understanding, and I truly appreciated his assistance during that stressful moment. Yesterday, I stopped in to pick up more bulbs for my leopard gecko and a container of worms. The employee who checked me out was absolutely lovely and noticed that the container included in my order was at least 80% dead. Unfortunately, I’ve run into this issue with Petco before. She kindly offered to let me grab a new container from the back, which I felt was completely fair—worms aren’t cheap, and I want to get what I paid for. After swapping them out, I headed toward the front, waved to the cashier, and thanked her. At that point, another employee loudly called out, “Ma’am, did you pay for those?” I turned back and said yes, then continued walking out, since I had already paid. The cashier backed me up and explained the situation, but the interaction was honestly embarrassing. To make matters worse, someone outside even yelled at me, assuming I had stolen something. I understand how it might have looked—I didn’t have a bag or receipt (I prefer to skip both for environmental reasons)—so I don’t fault the employee for doing her job. However, I do find it frustrating that there seemed to be more concern about potential theft than about the quality of the products being sold. While the worms are ultimately meant as feeder insects, they still shouldn’t be sitting in a container where the majority are already dead. Overall, I’ve experienced both excellent customer service and some disappointing quality control at this location. I’d still return, but I hope to see improvements in product quality and communication between staff.

  We take our dogs here for grooming and nail trims. Entire staff are friendly and professional.

  I dont love seeing the sad birds and dying fish :( BUT when going there for dog food, my dogs food is always in stock and QUINN is always so kind and helpful! Thanks Quinn :-)
