Imagine your pet in distress at 5:30am on Christmas morning. Then imagine dialing two “24x7” Emergency clinics with no answer. Until calling Hope and getting a human response on the first ring. Need I write more?

Poor care and gross neglect. My cat was seen for eye care. The doctor brought a few trainees along and they tried to test pressure in eyes ignoring the fact that he was in pain, and stressed him out in the process. But what is grossly neglectful is that she gave him pain medication without asking his kidney ailment history and the medication nearly incapacitated and killed my cat. Upon reporting, she just changed the medication without apologizing or showing any concern. Such doctors should not come near pets.

The ladies at the front desk are amazing: very personable, friendly, empathetic, and sweet and gives me the relief that my dog is in loving hands. My dog gets very anxious going to the doctors but Hope Oncology is the first time I've seen him less anxious. The only issue is the extremely old card machine not working that causes me to have to double check If i was charged twice. The computer system also seems to be really slow where the ladies have to compensate for the system's behalf and although the ladies are extremely patient which I appreciate, the machine's out of their control and can get in the way of checking out smoothly which I feel is crucial for an oncology hospital that can be very heavy to deal with for patients. Please get them a new card machine. Dr. McNeill is also very good. I did wish he was able to talk to me especially because this past appointment would determine on when to start his chemotherapy, however, I ended up not being available during the time they called me which i first communicated that I was going to be available and he is very busy which I understand.

First, I was shocked to read some bad reviews. I can only guess that they are for the ER, which I did not use at all. My dog Bear is 12 years old. Back in Feb, a vet in Strasburg, Va told us based on X-rays & a brief ultrasound they took, they thought Bear had an aggressive form of cancer. We were absolutely devastated to say the least. We reached out to the Hope Center. Within 3 days Bear was seen by Dr.McNeill. After some expensive but necessary testing, DrMcNeill called us (we were nearby waiting) to tell us there were no signs of cancer at all! Every single person at the center from the Doctor, to the receptionist to the vet techs, were all incredible, kind, caring, and amazing with Bear. He isn’t an easy patient being 80lbs & not liking the vets office. But the staff treated him so well & Bear was so responsive to their clearly sincere, caring nature. It was the best veterinary care he has received in his 12 years and I wish all vet offices were like them. Forever grateful!

Took my best friend Snowball here to Hope Advanced Veterinary Clinic for an optometrist appt, and wow, what a difference! The staff are super knowledgeable and gentle with my dog, and we managed to successfully do the exam. Sometimes my dog can be a bit jumpy lol. Valerie was super amazing handling my dog & assisting dr atkins. They explained everything clearly, from the diagnosis to treatment options, no rushing me. The staff's friendly vibe made the whole experience less stressful for both of us. Highly recommend if your pet needs an eye specialist! Dr Adkins is super smart, helpful, & patient. Dr Kate Keenen is also great, & I think she’s interning which is cool. Also, the ladies that helped me at the front desk are always super easy to schedule with. As an update, I brought Snowball for a follow-up today. Dr Pak who’s a cardio specialist (I couldn’t find how to spell it but she’s in the pics) was awesome, and Sarah was fantastic too! They both work well together & they did the first part of the follow-up, and Dr Adkins came in afterward and did the full diagnosis & insight. She’s truly kind & patient. I recommend this place for anyone looking for a specialist for their dog, especially for optometry & cardiology. Daniel
