Hello, my name is Tyga, and I’m just a cat. I’m saying this because today the people at this clinic treated me like I was supposed to act like a human. Before anyone even touched me, I hissed a little — only because I was stressed and anxious (and there was a damn dog nearby). But instead of understanding that, they refused to give me my vaccine or care for me at all. I’m just a cat, dude. But instead of helping me, they told my mom and dad, “We can’t able do this,” packed me back up, and even sent us away without giving me my drop medicine. That broke my tiny orange heart. 😿

Today I took my cat in for his vaccine, but before I even took him out of his carrier, three staff members decided not to treat him. They said, “he hissed, so he will bite us,” which is ridiculous. My cat is normally calm and has never bitten anyone — he only hisses from stress, which is completely natural, and he didn’t show any aggressive behavior at all. I’m sorry, but refusing service just because a stressed cat hissed, while wearing gloves and without even opening the carrier, is both unprofessional and laughable. If that’s the case, then your clinic only accepts “perfectly behaved” animals. (He’s a cat, not a person!) Should I have put a tie and suit on my cat to make him acceptable? 🤔 On top of that, I felt discriminated against because of my identity. They dismissed us without trying, which made the whole experience even more upsetting. A veterinary clinic should never treat clients differently based on religion or culture.
