  I had a very disappointing experience with the Petco on Staples Mill Rd. A few months ago, I purchased 5 fish, and every single one died within a week. All of them were covered in ich. When we returned to the store, they did refund the money, but we were also told they were “dealing with an ich outbreak” and could not sell fish at that time. We thoroughly cleaned our tank and followed all instructions given to us, including purchasing the conditioner and water clarifying solutions they recommended. After waiting about four months, I decided to give them another chance and bought 4 more fish. Unfortunately, the very next day one fish was completely covered in ich and died. Once again, we were told they were “having issues with it” and were given ich medication. It has now been about a week, and only one fish is still alive, but it is showing signs of ich as well. This seems to be an ongoing issue that has not been properly addressed. While refunds were provided, the repeated loss of fish and consistent illness is unacceptable. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing any more fish from this location 😡

  On 12/12 a little after 4 pm I called the petco Staple Mills location asked if they could check to see if they had the Brand of Cat in certain flavors in stock. This Brand of cat food in certain flavors is hard to find in stores. The female customer service person told me what they had in what I was looking for. I asked like I have many times to see if they could hold the food till my husband got off work which will be in 2 hrs. She refused and told me to go online and buy it. I have dealt with this and others no one has ever refused to help me . I have always had issues when trying to order cat food on line the closest store to me is Chester where my husband works he is not far from Staple Mills store. Because of someone not wanting to do there job I may have lost out on the cat food I need. All this person had to do was put my husband name on a slip of paper and put hold on 2 cases of can cat food. To lazy to do that.

  I'm a 1st-time cat mom and I've been taking our baby to this Vetco since we got her a year and a half ago. All of the staff have been incredibly pleasant and open to answering the many questions I have. The prices are very reasonable and the staff genuinely care about their patients. I highly recommend Vetco on Staples Mill Rd.
