My issue is the substrate Petco keeps their ball pythons on is Aspen shavings and for short term that might be fine but it doesn’t provide proper humidity for this species and both snakes that I’ve bought from Petco I’ve gotten for 75% off because of shedding issues, likely caused by improper humidity. If Petco would switch to coconut or cypress substrate this may prevent shedding issues in ball pythons in the companies care.
