  We attempted to bring our dog here for the first time and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Courtney did not take any time to get to know our dog before immediately listing reasons he might be sent home (such as whining or barking), which felt discouraging right from the start. She also mentioned she “didn’t have time to do the full VIP package,” but as new customers, we had no prior explanation of what that meant or what to expect. This lack of communication made the experience even more confusing. Additionally, when my husband mentioned our dog had previously been on trazodone following a recent neuter, it seemed to raise concern—even though he has since been cleared and is no longer on the medication. She indicated “it seems like we are not a good fit for you”. Overall, the interaction came across as dismissive, as though there was little interest in actually working with our dog. It was a frustrating and defeating experience, especially after taking the time to come in. I would strongly recommend that new clients receive a call or clearer information ahead of time so expectations and requirements are properly communicated before arrival.

  Courtney and Brooke are excellent! They always provide my dog with the best, quality care. He is always so happy to see them. Thank you all!

  I thought I was paying for the usual ears, bath, nails so when the bill came to $70+ I was stunned. This is now priced out of the realm of possibility for us. Even my vet is more affordable.

  Just completed our holiday grooming appointment with Courtney for my walker hound. My experiences with Courtney have been lovely and professional. She has been grooming and trimming his nails (thankful)! regularly for at least a year. She is patient with his general preference not to be separated from his mama or have anyone trim his nails. I would recommend Courtney or Brooke without reservation.

  My dogs usual groomer (Taylor at the staunton petco) didn't have any available appointments but I was able to find an appointment at the harrisonburg store. I've never had a dog groomed there before but decided to give them a shot. His groom usually takes 45-60 mins. Today it took Courney an hour and a half to complete his groom. Colton is known to be a bit difficult when it comes to his legs and face. He doesn't bite, just tries to pull his leg away from you and will try to pull his face away even when you are holding on to his chin hair (very common practice in grooming). When I picked up Colton, Courtney told me he had some redness on his chin from trying to pull away from her but otherwise was a good boy. I didn't get to really check out his chin until we got home. He was too excited and wouldn't sit still. When I was able to look at it, it looked like hair had been pulled out and there was a little blood! Courtney will never touch my dog again! I believe she yanked him hard by the chin hair because he was being difficult.
