I've been a Bond Vet customer for many years, first in Logan and now in Alexandria. The scheduling is very easy and the staff (front desk and vet techs) is very nice. I am leaving for a few reasons, which other reviewers have also flagged.
1. They are a corporate/ private equity chain and that is felt in the customer experience
2. They are more expensive than similar vets- they quoted me $1300 for ringworm testing. My sister paid $150 at her vet.
3. The vets on staff do not seem experienced. I don't really care about bedside manner but if that is important to you look elsewhere
4. They seem more focused on profit rather than accurate diagnosis and treatment of animals
Literally go anywhere else.

Dr. O’Brien and Melanie were absolutely awesome.
They made us and our senior dog feel comfortable and right at home.
We will definitely be apart of the family from now on.

I’ve been going to Bond Vet Old Town for a couple of years now but will not be returning after a string of bad experiences with my dogs. I would highly suggest others not go to Bond Vet Old Town either.
The first bad experience occurred when I took my dog in to get blood work. They realized they hadn’t charged me for his blood draw, so I paid and confirmed with them that I paid. It had been about two weeks and I hadn’t gotten his results so I followed up. They notified me that they threw out his sample and I had to return again.
The next incident occurred when he had a hot spot. For some reason, they left the shears on the table when they were treating him, where he sat on them, which caused him to further injure himself.
The third incident occurred when I requested a refill for medication my other dog. They told me they couldn’t refill it because she needed to be seen. I told them that she isn’t seen until February and that I wasn’t going to come in earlier. They told me that they just wouldn’t refill it period, which makes me feel like they just wanted more money out of me in order for my dog to be seen two months early.
Finally, I scheduled an appointment for a blood draw for my other dog and requested a quote beforehand in order to ensure the cost was cheaper than his oncologist. It was, so I decided to go in. I was running late, so I called to just let them know. No one answered or called me back, but when I arrived, I noticed the receptionist was browsing on her cellphone.
We waited about 30 minutes before my dog was seen for his appointment. When he was about to get his blood work done, they showed me what I was expected to pay, which was a lot more than they quoted me for. The nurse told me it was because they put the incorrect line item in. Based on all these experiences, we will never be returning to Bond Vet.

Our appointment today was great! Our boy received many compliments and snacks throughout his appointment, which definitely helped to keep him calm. The three techs that were needed to draw for bloodwork (big baby’s got super tiny, wiggly veins AND doesn’t like his front legs/paws touched) were SO patient, dedicated, and accommodating! We will certainly be back!
