  I went shopping in-store for some supplies as well as new fish to a tank I have set up. The store had a decent number of people shopping when I showed up, so I expected that service would be somewhat slow. When I went to find someone to help me with fish, CJ directed me to who would be able to help me. That guy wasn’t very friendly, but he was okay. CJ got me crickets and when he helped with checkout he was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. He also was quick to offer to load up my cart for me (there was no one else in line and I easily could have done it, but I get like he went above and beyond.) He thanked me for my patience with the wait and made sure to also thank me for coming in again. He’s the employee that I most look forward to seeing when I shop. He’s always willing to help and answer questions, and he manages things very well even when things are very busy.

  I am writing to share some concerns about animal care and customer service at your location. While the store appears well stocked and organized, I have noticed ongoing issues during my weekly visits that I believe need attention. Specifically, many of the fish tanks appear to contain fish showing signs of illness, such as ich, which is typically treatable when addressed promptly. Over multiple visits, I have not seen evidence that these health concerns are being addressed. I have also observed deceased betta fish remaining on display for extended periods, which raises concerns about how frequently the animals are being monitored. In addition, I have experienced difficulty receiving assistance from staff. On one occasion, I waited approximately 20 minutes for help with an aquatic plant while attempting to get an employee’s attention, but I was unable to receive assistance. A more proactive approach to customer service, such as greeting customers and checking in to see whether help is needed, would greatly improve the store experience. I care deeply about animal welfare and believe that additional staff training in basic animal health awareness and customer service could make a significant positive difference for both the animals and customers.

  Some items pretty pricy but this is my go to store for pet supplies.

  I went in to get an id tag for my dog. The cashier was very helpful and friendly. I had not been to the store for some time because the previous several times the store staff was surrely and even rude. I’m so glad that the morale has improved, and people who genuinely appreciate their jobs are working there.

  Please do not purchase any fancy goldfish or comet goldfish at this time. All individuals currently in stock are exhibiting clear signs of Ichthyophthirius multifiliis (commonly known as Ich), a highly contagious freshwater parasite that infects a fish’s gills, scales, and fins. If introduced into an established aquarium, this disease can rapidly spread and may be fatal to both the affected fish and tank mates. Petco is strongly encouraged to immediately quarantine these fish and suspend sales until the outbreak has been fully treated and resolved. Many customers may not be familiar with identifying fish diseases, and it is the responsibility of a pet retailer to ensure livestock health and prevent the spread of illness rather than selling visibly infected animals. I personally observed a customer leaving the store with newly purchased goldfish, indicating that sales are ongoing despite the visible presence of Ich. The characteristic white spots are easily recognizable, which suggests either the issue was overlooked or staff may not have adequate training in basic fish health and disease identification. Addressing this promptly would demonstrate proper animal care standards and protect customers from unnecessary loss. Thank you.
