  I rarely take the time to write reviews, and when I do, it is usually to support businesses after a positive experience. Unfortunately, this is the first time I feel compelled to leave a negative review due to an extremely disappointing experience at Petco in Saratoga Springs. I have an 8-month-old puppy who is familiar with grooming services, and I decided to try this location for convenience. From the beginning, the experience was problematic. I was quoted a price over the phone and scheduled the appointment based on that information. Upon arrival, however, staff disputed the quote they had mistakenly provided and instead of honoring the price they had given, they insisted on charging more. If there is uncertainty around pricing, quotes should not be given over the phone to schedule appointments. After some back-and-forth, I adjusted the services to fit the revised pricing. The customer service was consistently unprofessional and dismissive. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told it would not make a difference or that the manager was unavailable, which is concerning in itself. Despite the poor initial interaction, I chose to proceed with the appointment. When I returned three hours later to pick up my dog, I found him in an unacceptable condition. He had urinated in his crate and was visibly soiled—his paws and belly were wet with urine. It appeared that he had been left sitting in it. Instead of properly cleaning him, staff simply wiped him down with a cloth and I got him in that state. I had paid for a grooming and bath service, yet my dog was handed back dirty. Despite them handing my dog back to me already urinated on inside the store, which is completely unacceptable when you are paying specifically for a service to clean your pet, no proper solution was offered. When I raised this issue, I was told they did not have time to clean him again. I asked to speak with the manager once more and was told there was nothing that could be done and that I should contact corporate. I requested a refund and was only partially reimbursed for minor services, like material, while the main service—the bath—was not refunded, despite not being properly delivered. Before writing this review, I made multiple attempts to resolve the situation. I visited the store four times and was promised follow-up that never happened. I also contacted corporate twice, only to be redirected back to the same store manager, who responded in a rude and dismissive manner. At that point, it became clear that not only the store but also corporate demonstrated a lack of professionalism. This entire experience reflects a serious lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic communication skills. I will not be returning to this location again, nor am I willing to subject myself to being treated this way by staff who lack basic communication skills. Overall, this experience has made me lose confidence in the brand, and I have no intention of taking my dog to any of their stores in the future. I strongly advise others to consider alternative grooming providers.

  I came to buy. Giant bag of dog food. I saw it was $96 in store and $92 on Amazon, I just couldn’t get it same day, which forced me to buy the bag in store. I asked the checkout if they do a price match and they only price match their website. I proceeded to attempt to check online but it was lagging to upload because it’s a cell service black hole. The check out helper grew impatient and said my type of dog food wouldn’t likely be discounted. Well, turns out she was wrong. Once I left and connected to internet again, it was discounted to the same amount that amazon was. 🙄 I know it’s a few bucks but these days any little bit helps!

  The team member named Eduardo assisted us today, and we were truly impressed. He is an excellent worker, very professional, attentive, and knowledgeable. He also speaks Spanish, which is a huge help, especially since the Latino community in Saratoga is growing. He guided us in the right direction to choose the best nutrition for our new puppy. Thank you for having such a dedicated and helpful employee. His kindness and professionalism made our experience much better.

  I took my Yorkie in for a grooming appointment. He's very skittish when getting groomed, usually. He went in nervous but by the time they were through, he was giving kisses all around. He had had enough after some time and was getting stressed about his nails so the kind groomer trimmed his nails but refused to file them due to his stress and they removed the charge from the bill. Definitely going back. Thank You Petco!
