- JTJaxon TuftFeb 14, 20261.0I wish I could leave zero stars… this store has the worst animal care in a Petco I have ever seen. Extremely awful conditions. Their ball pythons had stuck eye caps. Every single reptile water dish was covered in algae, when was the last time they had fresh clean water? Their parakeets were all fighting for the food dish because all the other ones were completely empty. The bird cages were covered in poop, including the bird cages that had no birds in them. Every single fish tank and betta cup was COVERED in algae. One tank had at least 10 dead fish laying on the bottom. There were even isopod cups that have been sitting on the shelf since May and June of 2025, there wasn’t one live bug in there and should’ve been removed from the shelf 8 months ago. How can an employee walk past their animals multiple times a day and think that’s okay?? Every petco has an employee whose sole purpose is to take care of the animals, why in the world are they not doing their job? Someone else needs to be hired or fired because the neglect of these animals is so not okay. Extremely dissatisfied.

They still welcomed me the same as they would if it was 3 in the afternoon. As far as prices in this area, hit up tractor supply around the corner, but they also close earlier.

I've never seen more than one employee working at a time, meaning they are stocking the entire store and have to keep an eye on the registers. God forbid you have a question about something, you'd delay the entire store by stopping the one employee on their way to/from the registers.
