Dozens of them were dead, dying and some fish were actively decaying. There isn’t one tank where HEAVY bubble algae hasn’t taken place. Someone needs to train the staff on how to take care of salt water fish. They either need to learn or stop selling salt water fish all together.

- VMValerie MadsenFeb 4, 20261.0Extremely appalling conditions here. All the guinea pigs were living in filthy homes without access to food, and with urine and poop soaked bedding. The mice were extremely overcrowded and also had no food. Petco and its employees could at least give them the minor comfort of an opaque hiding place. The goldfish were all dying and I witnessed what appeared to be forgotten bags of them (for adjusting into the water) where they were suffocating and also inhaling clouded water with built up fecal matter (you cannot leave fish in a bag - the oxygen will run out).

I hope management will hire more peeps to help them out. The rest of my visit was unfortunately about what I expected from petco as a self-proclaimed advanced hobbyist, aquatics wise. Some fish were underweight, a few fragile fish like neons had passed, and the stock choices at this location was kinda limited. Despite this though, I was pleased to see that one of the sump batteries was in quarantine and proper steps were being taken for the animals. It really looks like they're trying and - in typical retail fashion - don't have the time necessary to dedicate to so many tasks all at once.
