Didn't visit but was quoted approximately $900 to have dogs teeth cleaned. Had it done elsewhere for $300 for same services.

This vet was extremely rude to my mother. She informed the staff that she was elderly and on a fixed income at the time of the appointment. She asked the person on the phone to get her a price. The price quoted was $130. She thanked her then told her she can't go over that. The appointment was made 3 weeks in advance. It was a very simple appointment for PARASITE TREATMENT ONLY for her two female cats.
They came back with Over $750 in services. The woman who was helping us was reminded of the fixed income situation. Unfortunately the woman spent 6 or 7 minutes focussed solely on selling my mom on the high priced services that included teeth cleaning under general anesthesia. I had to pry the already prepared less expensive options out of her. She was obviously upselling and had no desire to share the estimate for services that fit moms budget. When she finally said (after I pried it out of her) $109.00 I expressed my displeasure that she wasted our time for so long (100% of which was pressuring us for the high priced services, with no mention that there was an alternative that fit our budget, with room to spare) and showed zero respect for my mother's wishes and budget. She had the nerve to argue with me when I told her I had a problem with her attitude.
She left the room for over 15 minutes (for the 2nd time) and then an older gray haired woman came in and offered zero apologies and just continued to heap on more abuse, particularly at me with nary a word directed at the real customer, my mother. Their attitude was something like "the customer is evil, but women who work in the vet's office are above reproach". They made their customer feel small to the utmost of their ability. When I asked the gray haired woman if she was going to apologise at all, for anything, even to my mother she would not answer. Instead she threatened to have me arrested for being upset.
These are evil mean spirited greedy people at this location. If you are on a budget you should go elsewhere or suffer the same abuse. I got a very strong impression that they hate men who question their authority about anything. It was the most insensitive treatment I've ever had at at a veterinarian. They wouldn't even say they were sorry when left alone in the treatment room with just my very upset mother. Shameful way to treat people. It was truly a horrible and completely uncalled for way to treat an 85 year old who only wanted her cats dewormed. I can't imagine anyone being OK with their treatment in identical circumstances. I got a strong impression that they hate men, and doubly so if they ask questions or take issue with their abuse, and perhaps doubly so when they are on a budget. They think you are terrible, contemptible people for not wanting to exceed your budget by 6 fold.
The gray haired woman judge me very harshly for getting upset. What she doesn't know is that I live in constant pain with Central Pain Syndrome. It's a horribly painful disease caused by central nervous system damage. But I doubt they'd care about that either. They are very quick to judge and completely unrepentant about their own obnoxious behaviours and hurtful words. (If you say disrespectful mean things to your customers in a calm voice you have still abused your customer.) It's been years since I've had such a bad experience as a customer, anywhere. Their shameless upselling and 100% completely unapologetic, uncaring attitude has no excuse anywhere in any business, but particularly horrible when it involves caring for our beloved companion animals.
What should've been a 10 to 15 minute visit ended up taking over 1 hour, but that seems insignificant now. It's the way they treat you with such contempt. From reading the other reviews it seems to be a busy location. Perhaps they don't care because they don't have to? Anti elderly, anti male, anti budget, pro general anesthesia with no mention of the risks involved until I BROUGHT IT UP.
Frequently Asked Questions About Banfield Pet Hospital - CLOSED
Does Banfield provide emergency care services?
No, but you can call us during hospital hours for urgent care advice. Depending on the situation, we can help provide a referral for urgent care, specialty providers, or to an emergency hospital. During non-hospital hours, please contact your local emergency hospital.
Can I get veterinary care online?
To help pets and their people stay healthy, Banfield clients who have Optimum Wellness Plans® can get remote general pet care advice and triage support directly from a veterinarian 24/7 through Vet Chat™ on the Banfield app.
What preventive pet health care services does Banfield offer?
We believe that preventive care is the most effective way to keep your pet healthy throughout all stages of life. Our pet hospitals offer many preventive care treatments, including:
• Vaccinations
• Dental Care

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
