  Staff was kind and I found the cat food I was looking for, though I always feel a little uncomfortable at the sheer amount of "stuff". The parakeets were cute and tarantulas were cute though I wonder if the animals in the displays ever get overwhelmed or sad.

  We adopted a kitten from this Petco location, and only four days later she became extremely sick. She stopped eating, barely wanted to move, slept constantly, and was having trouble with her balance. We rushed her to the emergency vet, where we found out she had a serious viral infection and is now being treated with antibiotics. We called the store because we wanted to let them know what was happening and, most importantly, make sure the other cats she had been housed with were checked as well. Instead of showing any concern for our kitten or the other animals, the manager we spoke with was incredibly rude and dismissive. He seemed completely uninterested in what had happened and repeatedly tried to pass the responsibility off onto the shelter the kittens originally came from, even though our kitten had been in Petco’s care before we adopted her. We also asked for the district manager’s contact information and were told they did not have it and then that they did not even have a district manager. The entire conversation felt like an attempt to brush us off rather than take our concerns seriously. This has been an incredibly stressful and disappointing experience, especially considering it happened less than four days after bringing our new kitten home. We were not calling to cause problems—we were trying to make sure our kitten and the other animals were safe and cared for. The complete lack of compassion and concern from management was shocking. After this experience, I would not shop at this location again, and I would be extremely cautious about adopting an animal from here. When a newly adopted animal becomes this sick within days, I would expect the store to at least show concern and take steps to check on the other animals in their care.

  Adopted a kitten from petco on Monday, Friday she was hospitalized for what they think is a viral infection. They had to send tests off to CSU. Petco adopted this kittens out with no shot records, apparently no vet checks and when I called the manager he said it’s not his problem, it’s metro animal shelter as they took the kittens from them. When I asked for his district managers number. He said he doesn’t have a district manager.

  I went there yesterday to get 2 fish to have a variety in my tank and one died not even 30 min after doing everything to add them and it died and my second one is sick so I have to isolate it from the rest and the lady in the fish department is very rude to me and my disabled ant. I will no longer be coming here ever again im going to pet smart from now on cause this is unacceptable
