  Good Shepherd Vet administered Bravecto topically on my perfectly healthy cat one week ago, on last Wednesday. Within an hour he was drooling, panting and itching all over. Within two days he developed a bald spot where they applied the topical and he developed lesions under his chin, on his front leg and back leg. The bald spot has gotten worse, developing lesions and scabs. I called the vet Friday afternoon & told them about the itching and bald spot. I was put on hold while they said they were talking to the doctor and came back telling me to put cortisone cream on him and that he would be fine. Of course I didn't do that, knowing how ignorant that is, that he would lick it off. Besides, he was itching all over. He hasn't been the same since. He was stumbling as well. He has also been lethargic. It seems some of his symptoms have improved but I'm concerned of the long term effects. I blindly trusted the vet, thinking that they wouldn't give my cat something to hurt him, big mistake. I've contacted Good Shepherd Vet and they claimed that they didn't know and noone else had complained. I have a hard time believing that they didn't know. Even more disturbing is that as medical professionals they should make it their business to know and to inform pet owners. The FDA issued warnings about this poison back in 2018 and there are online petitions to have this poison removed from the market. There are also Facebook pages and many horror stories about the side effects, including death. I learned a valuable lesson, I will never allow ANY type of flea/tick medications on my poor baby again. I scheduled a visit for him to see another vet in 5 days. When I spoke to them they claimed there's nothing they can do now, that it just has to work out of his system, but I'm taking him to have him evaluated anyways. I pray to Jesus Christ everyday that my beautiful baby boy makes it through this. Also, I reported this to the Bravecto drug company. I wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone who loves their pets

  I became a regular patient of Good Shepherd 3 years ago when I got my first cat, and we recently started taking my new kitten there as well. I cannot say enough amazing things about Good Shepherd! Their staff are so kind and patient, and more than happy to help you with any questions. They treat the animals in their care with such compassion (even when my older cat is a little bit spicy for her vet visits)! The facility is clean and welcoming, and I've even called them before with random cat care questions and they've been delighted to help me. I highly recommend Good Shepherd if you have any pets! Your animals will thank you! 💜

  I have brought my dog here to get vaccines on several occasions. However, I scheduled him to get his anal glands expressed, and after about 2 minutes in the back, the girl brings him up front and says they can’t do it. They said he was too squirmy. She just handed me the leash and walked off. No recommendations. No alternative solution. Just didn’t want to make the dog upset is what she said. She was very rude to me and did not want to discuss any options.
