Makayla was the employee who refused to take my dog in. My family is Hispanic, and we noticed that she made a genuine effort to help the client directly ahead of us by trying to accommodate their dog. However, when it was our turn, she didn’t appear to make any effort to take our dog or explore any options before turning us away. The difference in how we were treated left us feeling disappointed and uncomfortable.

I was so close to making a grooming appointment for my Great Pyrenees and my Great Bernese. But I heard through Word of Mouth from a few people not to go here. Especially because I have big dogs. I heard everyone out and decided not to go. I can't risk my dogs not being properly cared for or being created for hours and hours before even getting groomed. I think what a lot of these big company places need to realize is that these are not just our pets. They are part of our family, they are our babies essentially. They should also take into consideration if they also have a pet how would they like their animal being treated? Maybe it's time to do another training with the employees. Maybe it's time to have a little chat with the employees before thi situation gets out of hand. Or maybe just have a class on how to treat animals with the proper respect and care that we were taught as children to do. A little empathy can go a long way.

Sharing this from FB since this place blocked a customer from leaving a review. “Dropped my sweet, 150lb senior Newfoundland off at our appointment time of 8:30. He has never taken more than 4 hours to groom. I hear nothing by 1:30 and call them to see what's going on. The groomer acts INCREDIBLY shady when I check in and tells me it's taking long because he has "a lot of hair" I even told her "this feels really uncomfortable" and she laughs and assures me all is well. I should have known then. 4PM rolls around and my gut is telling me to go. I get there and my dog looks absolutely miserable. I find out that my dog has been sitting in the back ALL day and they were only just beginning to start his cut. AFTER *EIGHT* HOURS. Instead of receiving a sincere apology, I was met with excuse after excuse: the groomer was new, he has a lot of hair, giant dogs take longer, etc. The manager was so incredibly nasty and dismissive, and the groomer even giggled during our conversation. "I told you I was junior hehe!" as if I heard her or even knew what that the hell that was supposed to mean. What was borderline abusive is that I leave and my dog immediately pulled me toward the nearest patch of grass and desperately needed to go to the bathroom. After being there for eight hours, it was clear he hadn't had a potty break all day. No dog should be left in a crate for an entire workday without communication to the owner. If they were running that far behind, someone should have called so I could have picked him up or rescheduled. Instead, he spent the entire day waiting (despite being the 8:30 apt) while I had no idea what was happening. They clearly do not know how to manage their appointments and all of the dogs pay the cosequences in their grooming sweatshop. My dog was EXHAUSTED, so thirsty and so hungry for being forced to stay there while they took dog after dog instead of him. How long would he have to keep going had I not stepped in? 10 hours without a bathroom break? Avoid avoid avoid. I won't be returning, and I strongly encourage other pet owners to stay far away as they obviously do not care. The manager is nasty and the groomers are awful. tl;dr: petco kept my poor senior guy there from 8:30-4:30 without a bathroom break and it would have been longer had i not intervened“

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE! AVOID! If you have a grooming appointment, CANCEL IT. I have been getting my dog groomed for nine years without issue. I made the mistake of giving this Petco a try. After 8 hours with no answers about my senior Newfoundland, my gut was screaming at me to go to the store. I come in to discover that they haven’t even STARTED his cut yet and they were “going to tell me” they can “complete his cut another day”. The useless manager informs me that they take multiple dogs throughout the day and the others just have to sit in the back. She also said he has “a lot of hair” and the groomer is “junior” so I “should gave known it would take a while” (??????) Zero accountability, professionalism, or care for my dog. To add insult to injury, I demand my dog back and my poor dog pees for a good three minutes! These groomers DO NOT care about your pets ESPECIALLY the most unprofessional “manager” I’ve ever encountered in my life. If you have an appointment with Mikalia or god forbid the horrible woman who continously claimed they did nothing wrong - RUN. My dog is exhausted from being there for 8 hours, never got bathroom breaks and is 20% completed because they do not care about your pet.
