  I absolutely love our vet at this clinic and have been a loyal client for 20 years. But since Badger Vet was bought out by the PetVet corporation and is no longer run privately, it has become outrageously expensive. As someone with multiple pets I simply can't afford to bring my animals there any longer especially for routine care. I'm not sure the decision making process that went into making the change from a privately owned business to a solely for profit business, but it no longer seems like the focus is on doing what's best for the animal. Every decision I make now when I take my animals in has to be looked at through a cost-benefit lens. No other part of my budget has increased so dramatically in the last few years as that which I set aside for veterinary care. I think the vets are caught in the middle, wanting to do well by the animals they care for but being under constant pressure to increase profits. It makes me very sad. I would follow our vet to the ends of the earth because she is a wonderful person and a compassionate clinician, but the high prices are forcing me to make other choices.

  We have our senior cat boarded there because he requires medication. They do a great gentle and calming stay for him. It allows us peace of mind in his care and allows us to take a break out of town. No other place boards cats.

  First and foremost we want to thank Dr. Malueg for saving our dog’s life! Our 4 year old was choking on a chuck it ball and we couldn’t get it out. We rushed him to the ER on Racine but it was closed. We then sped over to Badger veterinary and Dr. Malueg and her team rushed him to the back within seconds of us getting there. We felt hopeless and thought we were going to lose our dog. After some time, she came into the room and let us know that they were able to get the ball out. She saved our dog’s life. Oh did I hug this angel! I probably would still be hugging her now. Thank you Dr. Malueg and thank you to all the staff that were there. Your kind words and hugs meant so much to us. We are forever grateful! 💕 PS - Our dog is back to his normal self and needless to say, we threw away all the small-size chuck- it balls we had.

  All of the staff at this clinic are so kind and compassionate about the care they give. Dr. Reed and Dr. Sheetz went above and beyond by squeezing my cat in for an emergency check and surgery. They went above and beyond what I would normally expect. Not having to drive to Madison when stressed about the wellbeing of my cat was so appreciated.

  Took my dog to a few other places when she was a pup and they were all a little unfriendly. The minute I walked into Badger my puppy was greeted and petted and told how cute she was. They obviously love animals here. That was two years ago and the adorable pup is now an intimidating malinois mix and she is incredibly nervous and scared, she is still told how pretty she is and that she’s a good girl. Offered peanut butter during blood draw and treated with love and not just fear. It means the world to me that my dog is still cared about even as she is a scary girl and has a muzzle now. Saw a Rottie slowly coaxed with treats and pats into an exam room. They love animals and care about their feelings. Saw another big bully waking up from sedation in an exam room get fretted over by the staff because their owner wasn’t there yet and they didn’t want him to be scared. I’m confident that if you bring your pet here they will treat it with respect and love! I go to Dr. Riley and she’s great. I drive 45 minutes from Rockford to come here. Made a scheduling mistake when I just got my puppy. Thought it was the Beloit badger much closer. After I went here though I knew I would make that drive to take my girl somewhere she is treated well.
