  Athena, our Great Pyrenees, has been groomed at this Petco multiple times over the years, and she has always come home looking great. That is why this experience was so disappointing. Before her appointment, I completed the online check-in and specifically requested that I be contacted before any full shave because Great Pyrenees have a double coat. Athena had some matting in common problem areas, including her ears, belly, and rear. I understood that extra grooming work might be needed. My concern is not whether the groomer believed shaving was necessary. My concern is that I explicitly requested a phone call before that decision was made, and I never received one. Instead, I arrived to find Athena had been completely shaved. She also had several small cuts and areas of skin irritation. I have included before and after photos, photos of the cuts, and a photo from a previous Petco grooming so others can see this was not our typical experience. Afterward, I called the salon twice. Both times I was told a manager would call me back. No one ever did. I also contacted Petco Customer Care and never received a response. I understand that groomers sometimes have to make difficult decisions when dealing with matting, and I respect the work they do. What I cannot understand is ignoring a customer's explicit request to discuss a major decision before permanently changing a dog's coat. Had someone called me as requested, we could have talked through the available options together. If you own a Great Pyrenees or another double-coated breed, I strongly recommend discussing expectations in person before leaving your dog. I trusted that my instructions would be followed, and unfortunately they were not.

  My directions were not followed on either of my small dogs. I asked that my mini poodle’s top knot grow out and they cut it shorter. I asked for my Shih Tzu’s ears grow longer and they did a terrible job and cut her ears shorter also. There is also a added fee of $5 - $6 for “materials” per dog

  Called and got in the same day. Only took them 2 hours when it usually takes 4 and Finn looks extremely well groomed! They didn’t cut corners, he smells great and even plucked his ear hair even though I forgot to ask. 10/10…will be rebooking with Emilie!

  My dog Frankie has been groomed by Sophie twice now! She is so kind, professional and does an excellent job. I will continue to book every 8 weeks with her. All of the staff have been extremely wonderful there and I am a super picky dog mama. Thanks everyone, keep up the great job!!! 😊
