  I've been taking my cat here for over a year, with multiple visits, due to his complicated health history that unfolded after we rescued him. I've always had a positive experience with the team here and Dr. McSky is efficient, compassionate, and informative when following up with my questions. I do my best to provide a thorough history in order to help them help my cat, and find their recommendations and care to be reasonable and well-intentioned. Care options were provided with pros and cons so that we could do our best to make informed decisions, and Dr. McSky was great in referring where specialty consultation was needed. Working in healthcare myself, I appreciate the collaborative and practical approach in caring for my cat, while being proactive with my own responsibilities regarding follow-up. This is more Vetco general feedback for their systems than for this specific location - I wish Vetco had was some type of Patient Portal so we could easily access our pet's charts and invoices, and I wouldn't have to bug them for it every time. Otherwise, grateful to the team here for their care.

  This Vetco, inside the Petco on SE Chkalov, has THE most compassionate team of veterinarians and vet techs I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They are all so kind and we're very caring towards my cats. The Vetco Total Care plan, at $35 a month not only takes $ off of your visits, you also get monthly rewards points to use in-store. One time I only owed $2 after all my points were entered, another time it was just $6! That was a nice surprise!

  Our visit to Vetco Hospital today was extremely disappointing and honestly upsetting. Our dog already has anxiety around vet visits due to a previous bad experience, and it was very clear from the start that she was nervous and uncomfortable. During the exam, she became stressed, growled when being restrained, and even urinated on the floor out of fear. Instead of showing patience or compassion, the veterinarian responded with what felt like dismissive and snarky behavior. While we were trying to show a video on our phone to provide helpful context, we were told, “you can take the dog to the car or you can bring me the phone,” which came across as unnecessarily rude and unhelpful in an already stressful situation. We were also lectured about our use of an e-collar, with the vet suggesting we reconsider it because it can cause aggression. This felt judgmental and uninformed, especially since no effort was made to understand how or why we use it. We’ve worked with professional trainers, and the e-collar has been a key tool in helping our dog overcome severe anxiety and reactivity. It has made a huge positive difference in her quality of life. Overall, the lack of empathy, communication, and willingness to understand our dog’s background made this a very negative experience. We left feeling judged rather than supported, which is the last thing any pet owner needs when dealing with an already anxious animal.

  Dr. McSky is one of the best doctors I have met lately. She is not only friendly but very considerate and she listens. I am totally impressed and thankful for her being Sophie’s care giver. I hope we will continue seeing her for a long time.
