Loved the front desk ladies. Well everyone there. The only bad thing I was there for over six hrs. My cat was not seen Unity 5 hrs later. No updates because was not priority since just had a UTI and there were other more critical fur pts to attend. That is the only thing wrong.

I have always appreciated Columbia River Veterinary Specialists. Everyone is so incredibly helpful and compassionate. Unfortunately, I had had to use their ER services several times for my dogs. They help us quickly and efficiently. If you need help with you pet, this is the right place to get it.
Thanks to everyone at Columbia River Veterinary Specialists!

Today was our first visit. We brought in our 5mo old Golden Retriever because we suspected he ingested a sock or other foreign body.
After x-rays, Dr. Valentyne and the team at Columbia River Veterinary Clinic gave us our options with clarity and kindness & they were able to successfully get the foreign body (hair scrunchie & makeup pad) out in the least invasive way possible by inducing vomiting! So thankful for how quickly they saw him and their quality care at 6am!

I brought a kitten in with a minor pelvic injury. His regular vet was closed and I wanted to make sure he was OK and didn't have an infection. They had us sit in the lobby for over an hour, then they took him into the back.
Another 90 minutes pass, then a doctor tried to run us up for a $3500 surgery bill including over $1200 of ultrasound and xray. I opt to get him some medicine and I'm told he'll be brought out in 10-15 minutes. It took another 45 minutes after payment had been processed for them to put some medicine in a bottle and bring me my kitten.
$300 in total for them to glance at my kitten and give me medicine. I took him to his regular vet and they outright told me that his wound is not serious and that he just needs painkillers and antibiotics. The doctor at CRVS lied to me and speculated about the severity of his wound in order to try to get me to pay thousands for unnecessary tests and bloodwork, and outright refused to even clean the wound if I wasn't going to pay for the whole package.
A photo of their quote is attached; I didn't think male cats with injuries near their genitals needed to be lactated for the cost of a regular vet visit before the wound could be cleaned, but at CRVS they certainly do!

I don’t even know where to start. I drove down from Longview, Washington completely lost and terrified for my cat Jinx, and the team at Columbia River Veterinary Specialists treated him like he was their own.
From the moment I walked in, Sarah at the front desk took the time to really listen; she asked the right questions, relayed everything to the team in the back, and even though they were at full capacity, she didn’t just send me away. She brought technicians out who took a look at Jinx, and it was Dr. Alexander who identified the bladder obstruction. He then sat me down and gave me the full picture; the severity, the timeline, and exactly what needed to happen next. He was direct and honest, and that clarity is what got us moving in the right direction fast.
What the team did next is what really got me. They didn’t just point me somewhere else; they got on the phone, called the Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin, relayed Jinx’s situation, confirmed availability, and helped me get everything organized to get him there in time.
And not to forget Jennifer went above and beyond walking me through diet, food brands, stress mitigation, and what ongoing care should look like going forward. Paige was right there alongside her; coming out to offer reassurance, making sure I felt okay, wishing me safe travels, and making sure Jinx was taken care of every step of the way.
Jinx had his catheterization that night. He’s home, eating, using the litter box, and doing great; and that outcome starts with this team.
I’ve had animals my whole life and never experienced a staff that cared this deeply, especially under the circumstances. I’ll be back, and once I get through school I plan on giving back to clinics like this one. You have no idea the impact you made. Thank you.
