They make you wait forever. And after my pets visit they rang me up and gave me all my pets meds, and I left. Get home and they are calling to tell me my card didnt go through. Why would they wait until I left store to check that it went through? I said ok maybe its an old card so I'll add another card. Added another card and got off phone. Then they call back like an hour later saying that didnt work either and they want me to drive all the way back to the store to pay in person. Both cards were good, I know because I used both today for other transactions, one of which was the pet store this banfield is in and both cards went through no problem. Im not trying to get out of paying, but why should I have to drive another 20 minutes there and 20 minutes home after for something that is messed up on their end? Gas is not cheap, and not to mention it would take time out of my day, time I dont have. Figure it out banfield, this is on you! Probably not gonna go back, I'll take my pet elsewhere, canceling my Optimus wellness plan because of this, way better vets out there and closer to home too! I do not recommend this place at all.

I’m very disappointed with my experience at Banfield Pet Hospital regarding my 17-year-old terrier mix, Skippy. Skippy had been diagnosed with renal disease and pancreatitis for years by the same vet, so his condition was well known. When I recently brought him in because he had stopped eating, I expected guidance focused on his existing illness and quality of life. Instead, after I enrolled in a senior wellness plan, it felt like the focus shifted to using as many plan benefits as possible. He was put through several tests, including heartworm testing and x-rays, and was prescribed probiotics he wouldn’t even eat, even though these didn’t address his known conditions. No one clearly told me that Skippy was likely nearing the end of his life or suggested focusing on comfort care instead of more testing. I wish the vet had been honest from the beginning about his prognosis so I could have focused on keeping him comfortable in his final days instead of putting him through unnecessary tests.

I'm torn on this review. There are definitely pros and cons to this place. The people that work there are the best. Every doctor and vet tech has been absolutely amazing in every way. I have no complaints whatsoever for the people I've interacted with here over the almost 10 years we've been coming here. However, the wellness plan and the insurance company behind it is abysmal. You pay so much for it and there's are still fees on top of the monthly payment. And the company itself is soulless to the core. I had to bring our cat in to be put down yesterday after we brought her in multiple times to find out what was wrong (was cancer). Each person that helped our cat was great. And the vet tech and doctor that put her down while I pet her were so amazing and thoughtful. However, we tried to cancel the insurance today and they refused, even though it auto renewed a couple of days ago they said we still need to pay the $900 for the entire year. After "talking to their manager" they said they'd lower it to $480... For a year of insurance for a cat that is dead. Looked up reviews for the wellness plan online and there are so many similar stories. Because of this we are not going to renew with them after the year is up for our other two pets, and we're going to find a different insurance and vet. Again, LOVE the staff here!
