Heart of Chelsea was wonderful! I called late on a Friday when my regular vet said they couldn’t take my dog but he needed to be seen right away. The person on the phone was so kind and reassuring. They squeezed us in same day and I’m glad they did. The care team was thoughtful, communicative and took such good care of my fur baby and his hurt paw. He got lots of pets and treats and he did better than I’ve seen him do at any vet visit!
I picked Heart of Chelsea in Ballard for my mini dachshund (Pip) because of all the amazing reviews and they absolutely lived up to them! 🥹❤️
Dr. McGhee and the vet assistant were so sweet with her. They were down on the ground playing with her while getting her exam done and did such a great job keeping her distracted with Churu during her vaccines. She barely even noticed them.
Everyone was so kind and you can really tell they care about the animals they see.

I can’t even begin to explain how amazing this veterinary clinic is.
I have an 11-year-old Shepherd/Boxer mix named Scout, and recently I had a huge scare with his health. I was sleep-deprived, low on money, and terrified that I was going to lose my dog. From the very first phone call, the receptionist was incredibly professional, welcoming, and kind. They made me feel heard and cared for even before I ever stepped foot in the clinic. When I arrived, they were just as warm and welcoming in person.
Everyone here treated us with so much compassion, from the receptionist to the wonderful veterinarian and vet assistants.
This was my first time bringing a pet here, and they even waived the exam fee. I only had to pay for the other necessary services, which meant so much to me because my dog was in need and I live paycheck to paycheck. That kindness made a genuinely scary situation a little easier to handle.
Dr. McGhee and her vet assistant, Jagger, were absolute angels. Scout adored them and immediately seemed to feel welcomed and safe with them. I came into the clinic feeling scared and alone, worried that my dog might not make it. I left with the proper medication for my pup and, more importantly, hope that things would get better.
Dr. McGhee even followed up with me after Scout’s first day on his medication to check on how he was doing. That level of care meant more to me than I can put into words.
I’m beyond grateful for Heart of Chelsea. I have already told people about my experience here, and I will continue to do so.
If you’re reading this and wondering whether this is a good place to bring your pet, I truly believe choosing this clinic could be one of the best decisions you make. They didn’t just treat my dog—they made me feel like I wasn’t alone during one of the scariest moments I’ve had with him.
Thank you so much to everyone at Heart of Chelsea for taking such wonderful care of my boy ♥️
Unfortunately they’ve turned into every other vet I’ve tried wherein they just repeat everything I’ve asked them, they don’t actually address the things I’ve asked about, and then ask me, “anything else?” It’s starting to feel like gaslighting. They were the ones who were rushing and late. Made us wait for over a half hour just to repeat everything and not even actually address our needs.

We had to visit Heart of Chelsea as urgent care because our regular vet was out of town. I cannot express enough how cared for we felt and Dr. Love gave us great options and ideas about treating a chronic issue, and we were able to get in to see her for follow up easily. You can tell she genuinely cares about each pet that comes into their clinic, and we won't hesitate to go back if we need to. The whole staff is friendly, and the waiting area is clean and quiet. I love that they have little hidey holes for kitties to hide inside while waiting for the doctor. It's reassuring to know that these guys are in the neighborhood.
