The level of incompetence is staggering. I brought my two cats in for dental cleaning. I received inconsistent information about whether they needed teeth extracted. Both of my cats are “senior” cats, ages 11ish and 13ish (rescues). I asked for X Rays on both of my cats. I declined extraction for my one cat since the vet tech said extraction was recommended but not necessary. I opted to have teeth extracted for my other cat because the vet said it was necessary; when she pressed on the teeth, she said they bled. The vet noted that the teeth were bleeding as well on my other cat that I declined extraction for, which was surprising to me because the tech who spoke to me said it was not necessary. They had already taken my one cat off anesthesia so couldn’t extract teeth today. As an aside, if touching causes bleeding, that seems like a necessary problem to fix… Anyways, I rolled with it because I figured I could bring my cat back in a few weeks to have her dental problems fixed ASAP. I got a phone call when the cats were ready to be picked up; the tech said picking up between 4:15 and 4:30 was fine. When I showed up, I was told that the cats could only be picked up at 5 PM. I came back at 5 PM. When I came back, I had follow up questions for the vet at well as basic questions (I.e., “Did both of my cats get their vaccines? If so, why was I only provided one tag?” And “Is a liquid form of this pain medication available?”) I also had questions for the vet about when I could reschedule to extract the teeth that bleed. I was told that the vet couldn’t take questions because she needed to get her daughter from daycare. One vet tech tried to walk through dental records with me from presumably another animal. She showed pre and post extraction records that clearly were not the same side of mouth. When I said these teeth visuals were very different, she got her manager. The manager took 20 minutes to pull up my two cats’ records. The manager walked me through different images than the vet tech. I have no idea if either sets of images were actually for cats. I was told by the manager that I would get a call back from the vet, but she would only be able to call me five days from the time of the appointment because she wasn’t working. At this point, it was 5:50 (so, 90 minutes after I initially showed up and 50 minutes after I had to come back for a second time). The manager noted my dissatisfied appearance several times during our interaction. Verbally stating that I was dissatisfied was accurate, though it was opposite of helpful. Upon getting home, I checked the app to get a download of the records. I was only was charged for one set of X Rays on one cat, so it’s still unclear that my older cat really indeed had X Rays taken. I don’t expect perfection… I do understand that most folks who work in vet care love the animals. However, after paying for two optimum wellness plans + over $1k for the services, I am surprised about the absolute lack of professionalism, coordination and veterinary knowledge

Thank you for taking such good care of my baby Finley. My rescue need to have 5 teeth extracted and I was super nervous and on edge 😬 but the staff made me feel so comfortable knowing he was in great hands. Staff is friendly, I was updated at every step of the way before any treatment was administered and the transparency in cost was amazing. A special thank you to Emmy, who was so very patient with me on my very first phone call. I had so many questions and she never rushed me through my concerns.

Fantastic experience at Banfield! The staff was warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The vet took time to thoroughly explain everything and answered all my questions without rushing. My kitten actually seemed comfortable, which says a lot! Highly recommend.

Super helpful and above all very respectful and gentle with my cat. They had different ownership a few years ago, and they were terrible. All the people are new(-ish) now and they are so great!!!
