Emma is amazing!
Cashier in black dress has an extreme rude attitude, would not come back here.

Both dogs got a bath. They were clean and happy.
I walked in and made an appointment for grooming. I never received a confirmation. So, I visited the shop an hour ahead of the appointment time and asked if the appointment was still on. The receptionist in the grooming area affirmed that it was. I mentioned the lack of any confirm. The person said, "Normally we call people to remind, but we had a corporate walk." The person then said that they lacked contact info for us. I provided it.
When I returned an hour later as scheduled, I filled out more forms and gave clear, basic grooming instructions orally to the individual groomer. I mentioned that our dog had a new diagnosis, but not really relevant to his grooming. The receptionist / groomer person immediately shot what appeared to be sort of a look at their one other colleague who was present, who immediately physically approached me. (The two employees are both physically large people.) Together they asked me a bunch of new questions. Together they seemed hostile or suspicious for some reason. I answered all of their questions fully and accurately, and repeated again that the diagnosis has little if any relevance to their work.
They then demanded to read our full vet instructions. They don't mention grooming, I said. The two groomers insisted, saying that it's policy to read the detailed vet instructions of all dogs. I shared the full vet instructions. The groomer / receptionist appeared to skim them. The two then asked me to sign a form stating that our dog has "Special Conditions" (plural, capitalized on the form). What is a "Special Condition," as that term is used on this form, I asked? Neither of them had any clue. I edited the form to reflect the accurate facts and signed it.
Later, I arrived at the store within about 10 minutes of receiving a text stating that our dog is ready to be picked up. When I arrived, the grooming area appeared empty of people and pets. On the other side of the store stood one cashier. There was no line at the registers and the store appeared virtually empty. I walked into the empty grooming area in search of customer assistance. I then was able to read a small sign on the desk directing customers to the main cash registers, if they need to pick up a pet from grooming.
Hmm, I've done that, I thought. I walked back over towards the cash registers, unsure how to get my dog, where the same cashier was standing helping no one. Another customer then walked up to the cashier just a few moments later with several large bottles of shampoo or similar in her arms. She apparently asked a question about the bottles. The cashier answered her question and then apparently engaged in some continued conversation with the bottles person. At this point, I apologized for interrupting, and said a second time, "I'm picking up our dog from grooming please, I think he must be in a cage in the back?"
The cashier immediately became irate and said she was busy helping another customer. I apologized yet again and replied that I had been waiting, that it was my second time asking her for our dog. "Who is the adult in charge right now of the dogs in cages in the back?," I asked her. "Is it you?" Finally she began to walk towards the grooming area, resuming her argumentation with me as she went! Instead of getting our dog, or checking me out, she felt it was important to physically stop in front of the sign on the groomer counter, point to it, and lecture me that I must follow the instructions on the sign. "I just did so, twice!" I said. The cashier then told me -- loud enough for the one other customer in the whole store to hear -- that I should not return to Petco Redmond for grooming. "Why would I ever do that?" I answered. The next morning, there was blood on our dog's bed which has never happened before in our family's decades of experience with dogs and groomers.

Worst customer service experience I’ve had, and unfortunately I will not be bringing my pet back to this Redmond location for grooming.
I am giving one star only because of the manager. The manager was genuinely wonderful calm, respectful, friendly, and extremely helpful. He was the only person who handled the situation professionally, and I truly appreciate how patiently he spoke with me and helped resolve the first issue.
The problems started as soon as I arrived. I was suddenly told that they needed specific documentation/certification from the vet showing my pet’s rabies vaccination. I already had his vaccination records with me, but I was told those records would not be accepted and that they needed something specifically from the vet confirming the rabies vaccination.
My question is: why was this requirement not communicated when I made the appointment? Why was it not mentioned during the confirmation call? I had already explained what documentation I had, and I was under the impression everything was confirmed. Instead, I arrived for the appointment, spent my time getting there, and was initially told they simply would not take my pet.
Thankfully, the manager stepped in and handled the situation calmly and professionally, which I really appreciated.
Unfortunately, the experience became even worse after my pet was taken in for grooming. My pet normally does not cry or react this way, but he became extremely distressed, started crying and fighting, and became so stressed that he even had stool accident. They eventually called me to come back.
When I arrived, my pet looked extremely stressed. Even after coming home, he has continued acting unusually stressed and has even been biting me, which is not normal behavior for him. I obviously cannot say exactly what happened while I was not present, but as a pet owner, seeing such a dramatic change in his behavior after the grooming experience was extremely upsetting. Grooming should not leave a pet this frightened and overwhelmed.
Then there was the pricing issue.
I booked the appointment through a Facebook promotion advertising grooming for approximately $19.99. However, I was presented with a bill for around $60. When I questioned it, I was told that the promotional price did not apply because my pet was “not a puppy.”
My pet is only six months old.
If they already had my pet’s age and information when the appointment was made, why wasn’t I told at that time that the promotion would not apply? I should not have to arrive after booking through a $20 advertisement and then argue about why I am suddenly being charged three times that amount.
There seems to be a serious communication problem here whether employees are not being given the correct information or customers are simply not being informed properly.
I also want to specifically mention the employee with green hair because the way she communicated with me was extremely rude. There was very little empathy, patience, or professionalism in the way the situation was handled. When you are working with animalsbespecially animals that may already be nervous or stressed I believe patience and empathy are incredibly important, not only with the pets but also with their owners.
I am not writing this review because I want anyone to lose their job. I am writing it because this was genuinely one of the worst customer service experiences I have had, and there are multiple areas that need improvement: communication before appointments, vaccination-document requirements, promotional pricing transparency, customer service, and most importantly, how stressed my pet was after the grooming experience.
Again, the manager deserves recognition because he was excellent and handled everything respectfully. Unfortunately, based on the overall experience, I will definitely not be returning to this Redmond location for my pet’s grooming.
