  We went in to grab dog food, and decided to just look at animals while there. We noticed they carried millipedes, and they now have a "starter pet" cardboard standup in the checkout. In all of these enclosures, they are practicing horrible husbandry. They have pacman frogs in tiny plastic containers with a little bit of moss and nothing else. The tarantulas do not have enough soil nor any sort of a hide. They look incredibly stressed out. The millipedes don't have nearly enough soil in their enclosures, nor any wood to climb on or hide under. They also don't have the correct type of soil, which as detritivores is incredibly important being that it's their food source. I spoke with the general manager, who just kept reiterating over and over and over again that "their goal is to get the animals out into homes for their proper forever husbandry and their vets suggest this husbandry and they've had great success." These creatures live in the tiny display enclosures in the check out for up to three weeks, and they live in the main enclosures for up to three months. This is absolutely heartbreaking as I always thought petco cared about their animals wellbeing, but they very clearly don't. I will likely be shopping elsewhere from now on. There are far better stores in the area that show much better care to their animals such as Pet Works. Petco is just selling inverts for the trend.

  Petco is my go to store. I ask questions and always get what I need. I have never run across an uninformed employee, even if I might ask a goofy question. And they also guide you to the section you need, instead of pointing in that direction. Petco employees are the best

  Every fish I have bought from here dies in like a day. But all the other fish I have purchased from reputable fish stores are still going strong 6 months now together in the same community. Add one from here - dead again. Forget about buying plants for your tanks out of the live tanks with the snails. They always have hitchhiker snails that invade your tank, but they tell you they don't have these. It's just such a mess with the aquariums. And the shrimp are always dead in the tanks.

  Chris is the rudest employee I’ve ever encountered at any Petco location. I’ve lived all across the US and never have I ever had to interact with someone like her. She was mad she had to walk a whole 20 feet to change the name for a pickup order, tried telling me that it was not allowed- it is, according to Petco’s own policies, refused to give me her name. The manager swore she would talk to Chris about her awful attitude, we will see. I’ve watched Chris belittle and be rude to customers in store and this isn’t the first time Chris acted beside herself that she had to do her job. If you’re upset you have to assist customers - find a job where you don’t have to work with the public. At what point is the manager going to step up and reprimand this type of behavior? Back to Petsmart & Chewy for me, dealing with employees like Chris isn’t something I’ll continue to do. Corporate will be contacted as Chris and her attitude need to be shown the door.

  Always has dead fish complains that the tank we needed was bigger, even though the tank they kept an animal in was smaller than the one we were gonna get, workers always have bad attitude, had to ask 5 times just for help, would not recommend
