My older cat had a blood clot in her aorta last night and was obviously in great distress and extreme pain. I made the choice to have her put down as to end her pain and suffering being an older cat. I called the 24 hour clinic and I decided to bring her in after they gave me other possible options with other facilities which was nice. I brought her in and they were going to take her without me for a little bit because I wasn’t allowed in the sterile environment for the iv prep. With some gentle coaxing from me they gave me a room where they could perform the tasks needed so that I wouldn’t have to leave her side and I greatly appreciated that. I didn’t have to leave her side once and held her as she died. It would have been so hard to leave her alone. Two of my kids have seizures and our dear cat would alert me. She would greet me at my car door when I came home. She would sleep next to me at night and when I was sad she would comfort me. When my kids were babies & beyond she would snuggle up with them if they were sad. I didn’t want to leave her when she needed me the most. The process was fairly quick considering paperwork needing to be done and other formalities etc. and then they quickly got her pain medication. They waived the fee for that I saw on the receipt when I got home. I don’t have any regrets and I am thankful that I was able to be with my dear cat in her final moments.

I just want to shout out the receptionist and team that worked this Saturday! I sat in the lobby and the interactions the receptionist had were nothing but kind and professional she had a way of calming down the people that came in with the most urgent issues and seemed so personable. The back staff was kind and efficient and made me feel heard when it came to issues I was having with my pet! Will definitely be back if my fur kiddos ever experience another emergency! Way to go team!!

**edit: As you can see, they continue to gaslight in their response. I NEVER requested medical care for the animal. I asked if they had resources for rehabilitators in the area and was given the cryptic answer of “we would need to evaluate it.” I was never told they ONLY offer euthanasia as an option until I pressed for an answer after they already took the bird to the back. I also learned that these locations get money from the state when they offer humane euthanasia for injured wildlife so they are incentivized to lie about the severity of injuries. Explains why they won’t tell you directly they euthanize it and why they fought so hard on giving it back to me when I told them I had a rehabber willing to take it. I have utilized this vet two times over the years. They were decent, overpriced but decent. Today they were beyond rude, cruel and dishonest. Let me start by saying this is in regard to wildlife rehab. I understand they do not provide wildlife rehab services. My dads cat injured a fledgling Robin and I was having a hard time finding a close by Wildlife rehabber. I was recommended by another facility to call this location. I called and stated why I was calling. I was told by staff that they could assist and to bring it by for an evaluation. I had spoken with a vet closer to me that said they only provide euthanasia for injured wild life. So I did clarify with the receptionist “I am looking to get him rehabilitated. If he’s too far gone that’s fine, but if he looks like he has a chance, you guys can help find a rehabilitation location?” The lady said “We would need an evaluation and then go from there.” I should’ve picked up on the cryptic nonsense and refusing to answer directly. I had PAWS in Snohomish reach out willing to rehab the bird but it was two hours away while this location was only 25 minutes. I thought I’d give them a try. I get there, they take the bird, bring out my empty critter keeper and tell me to have a good day. I inquired further on what the evaluation entailed and what was happening with the bird. They kept saying “it’s being evaluated.” It took me several minutes to get a clear answer. Finally they admitted they were going to euthanize it. It had a single puncture wound and missing tail feathers. I was told by rehabbers with antibiotics it would likely be fine. I inquired further on why they came to that conclusion and they told me they do that to all injured wild life. The lady at the front tried to gas light me saying she told me that on the phone. She did no such thing. I asked for it back and then the vet came out and proceeded to gas light me further saying “I don’t work on birds lady” and that I was being cruel for trying to save it. Tried to tell me its wing was broken. (It wasn’t, it was flying fine just couldn’t steer due to missing tail feathers.) I argued for several minutes being gaslit like I was asking them to perform medical care on it. When all I ever asked was to find a rehabber. I’m aware you need special licensing and not just anyone can take them, even a vet. I gave up and left. I will not be returning to this location unless it’s life or death, and even then I’d be weary of the male vet there. I get it just a bird, but I was willing to put work into helping it and it COULD have survived. So if you are recommended to bring wildlife here, just know it’s for a death sentence only. If you’re okay with that, go for it.

I don't know the names of the two staff members that were working tonight (nurse & Dr), but they were absolutely amazing! My puppy had an allergic reaction, I called and they got me in immediately. They were short staffed, dealing with clients that were not very kind to them and yet they still had a smile on their faces and were very professional. They took such great care of my little Stella and I am forever grateful. I have had some bad experiences at emergency vets before, this was NOT one of them! Please thank them both for me, they were so wonderful!
