- RSRachel SullivanJul 10, 20261.0I really loved this vet... until I didn't. My dog has severe bronchitis and needs an inhaler, among other medications, to manage it. I called for a refill on Monday, no callback, no communication, nothing. If they had simply called me back on Monday and told me then that a fax request from the pharmacy was needed, all of this could have been avoided. Instead, I called again Thursday and was assured the prescription would be sent by Friday morning. I called the pharmacy Friday afternoon and they still hadn't received it. I called the vet again and was told they couldn't send it because they had no record of the prescription, even though Banfield had prescribed it. The only option they gave me was to have the pharmacy fax over a refill request, the same information they could have given me four days earlier. Fine, I got the pharmacy to send it. I called the vet back and was told they'd handle it "as soon as they can." First they said 5 minutes, so I said I'd stay on the phone until it was done. Then they said the doctor was just starting rounds, so it might take longer. At that point I was in tears, just wanting my dog to get some relief. Then the call dropped. This is unacceptable. Vets are supposed to help protect our pets, not prolong their suffering. Shame on them.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
