First of all, Katie is a fantastic groomer. If she ever leaves Hyline, I will follow her. My low review is based on hidden pricing.
I booked online for a bath and brushing appointment for two dogs. After selecting Bath and Brush-out (no price listed) I was presented with a list of options and prices. I selected the ones I wanted, dropped off the dogs, picked up the dogs, and was charged $84 more the total of the items I had selected.
I emailed my concerns them and in the back-and-forth, they stated "I will start off by saying you are correct that the base prices for bath and brush outs are not listed during the reservation. They are calculated by breed and size, and while we have a chart in our office behind the desk stating prices, a list is not available on our website at this time. "
It may not be their intention to deceive, but it certainly is misleading. Because the base price is not shared with the person booking, it is reasonable to think that the prices listed are THE prices, not additional to an invisible price.
We had been recommending Hyline to others and bringing our dogs to Katie for years, always for Bath and Cut. This was our first Bath and Brushing appointment, hence my lack of familiarity with the pricing structure, but it seems to me that when an established customer asks for a credit due to hidden pricing, the thing to do would be to a) grant the credit and keep the customer and b) correct the misleading website. This all happened in January, and when I checked recently, the website still does not disclose the base-price for Bath and Brushing.
Also, though I scheduled a Bath and Brushing, they came home with short cuts, in January. Brrr!!! Not what we wanted at all.
