  There needs to be one person dedicated to answering the phone and booking appointments. The groomers having this additional task makes things messy and unorganized.

  We brought our new-to-us rescue terrier mixes to Petco for their first-ever groom. The staff was very helpful and caring for both dogs. We did not know how they would do, and both groomers did a wonderful job cleaning up the dog's mats, trimming their nails and paw pads, cleaning their ears etc. Special shout out to Heather who gave us a physical report card and a detailed breakdown of what our dog was good with and scared of - so we know for future reference and also what to focus on in our sensitization work at home. She was extremely caring with our shy little guy, and also tied a very cute bandana around his neck when he was nice and clean - nice touch :) I've posted some "before and after photos" of our two dogs. Thank you to both groomers for your fantastic work!

  The employee was very helpful polite and did his best to put me at ease. The grooming itself did not take as long i thought they did a great job

  I had a bad experience today. I always take my Shih Tzu to Petco for his vaccinations and baths, and this is the first time I’ve left feeling disappointed especially considering I paid $90 for a haircut that, in my opinion, isn't even remotely even. The groomer checked him over when I dropped him off. It’s true that I had let my Shih Tzu’s hair grow out for quite a while, and he did have some mats this time though certainly not throughout his entire coat. He’s had mats before, and they were always able to remove them just by brushing. I explained to the groomer that I wanted to try to maintain the length or at least cut off as little as possible and that, at the very least, I wanted his face to be trimmed into a nice, round shape. I showed her a reference photo, and she told me she would pass it along to the person who would be doing the grooming. When I returned to pick him up, I was shocked to find that they had shaved off almost all his fur and the cut wasn't even aesthetically pleasing. I didn't say anything at the time because I was so disappointed; I simply paid and left with my dog. But I am truly quite disappointed. This is my Shih Tzu before going in, and this is after coming out his hair just needed a trim and a bath. 😕
