Unprofessional. Set up a vet appointment for my 2 cats to get their vaccines and once I got there a snarky vet assistant told me it’s too early and that the doctor was not going to do it (understandable but why schedule and have us confirm in the first place?). The vet assistant was rude and once our plan is up we’re going elsewhere.

"UPDATE: Corporate responded here asking me to email them. I did, but they just quietly forwarded my complaint back to the Winchester clinic, and I have been completely ignored for two full weeks. Their public response was a fake PR stunt to look good to potential clients. They do not care about grieving families."
Our experience with Banfield in Winchester,VA was deeply disappointing, especially during one of the most painful moments our family has ever faced. Our cat was only 2yo and spent a year battling a serious neurological condition that caused seizures and progressively affected her quality of life. She is been enrolled in their wellness plan since she was a few months old and after being diagnosed with this neurological condition they suggested to update her plan and we ended up paying over $80 a month because we wanted her to receive the care she needed. Unfortunately, we often struggle to get the level of attention and follow up we expected for her ongoing care. Even basic preventive needs became difficult to manage, including keeping her rabies vaccination up to date. After this experience my daughter contacted Banfield corporate to cancel the wellness plan because she no longer felt confident continuing care with this location. This was not an easy decision but the experience left us disappointed and unable to trust that we were receiving the care and support our fur baby needed. When her health declined we reached out to them for guidance regarding end of life care, we were hoping for compassion, support and understanding. During that difficult time my daughter was told that there was nothing more they could do for our cat and was advised to take her to ER. While we understood that emergency care might be necessary, the way the situation was communicated left us feeling dismissed and without the emotional support we desperately needed. Because of this loss of trust, we have also decided not to renew the wellness plans for our dog and our other cat. We wanted to have a veterinary relationship were we felt our pets were truly seen, cared for, and supported, especially during difficult moments. Thankfully we found another veterinary clinic that treated her and our family with the kindness and respect we needed. They gave us a peaceful space, answered our questions handled our beloved cat with dignity and helped us through the hardest goodbye. I want to clarify that this review is specifically about our experience with the Winchester location. I know care can vary between locations and i have had very positive experiences at the Sterling, VA location, however, our experience at Banfield Winchester during our cat final days was deeply hurtful and is something our family will not forget. I hope this location reflects on how important communication and compassion are, especially when families are reaching out during moments of grief and vulnerability. Btw I did not want to give a star but I had to so I could post it

One of the worst experiences ever. I've taken my cat to banfield in Sterling before moving to Winchester, and I've never had any issues. They did not make an effort to even READ HER CHART?? like?? what are we doing?? winging it? these people are supposed to be professionals and this has been anything BUT professional. the first day i took her for a "in-room" visit, they just took her to the back for the pick up/drop off and my cat really hated that. tried to book in-room and had to keep asking when i got there to see us in a room. Transferring to this vet was a completely different story. Seeing other people in the reviews having the same issues as I did with this banfield just shows how much they don't care. I did reach out to corporate and cancel my OWP, but after that, my cat got extremely sick. as a final effort, i reached out to this banfield, and they were unwilling to help me with anything. not even end-of-life care. this is already a hard decision and the insensitiveness from the staff was just the cherry on top. I will shoutout Dr.Delaney, she was amazing with my cat and was the only person in the building that had made my concerns feel heard and genuinely gave me good advice, and a plan to move forward with my situation. Front desk staff? TERRIBLE. I wish i was exaggerating. They will leave you on hold FOREVER, to the point where I have to call back, and STILL ask me if I can hold after already holding 20+ mins. this is honestly so ridiculous and I've never experienced something like this in my life. Im really writing this review for the people who love their animals, please dont take them here. the staff is rude, unwilling to accommodate, and will blatantly tell you "No. There's nothing we can do" so heartbreaking and so sad. I hope they do better.

***PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS VET!! ***I BEG NO ONE GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!!! Pay the money and go elsewhere it will be worth every single penny!! The lead veterinarian, DR. CARLY J. LOVELADY is absolutely horrible, rude, and incompetent. She has absolutely NOoooooo business being a lead veterinarian at this organization, or even working with animals point, blank, period. I had to go to a different outside, veterinarian for a second opinion, and everything I was telling Dr. Lovelady about my animal they were able to determine exactly what I was saying and diagnose with the correct treatment to go along with it . Dr. Lovelady refused to give my dog an antibiotic and told me I needed to see a specialist about her itching. Come to find out my dog had cancer this whole time. I have been a Banfield member since 2010 and this is the worst facility they have (Winchester, VA). If you want your pet to possibly misdiagnosed and you want to be ripped off to the MAX, and deal with a scrum of a person like DR. CARLY J. LOVELADY be my guest go see this Vet and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. If I could give this organization a negative billion stars I would it’s ran by disgusting clowns.
