My pup Falco has been getting groomed here for at least two years now and he always goes in a mess and leaves a handsome boy! The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and Judy (the groomer) always takes good care of my pup 🐶

August 19th 2026. I dropped my American bully off for day care and was told during pick up that he “refused to go outside” - extremely odd and usual behavior. August 20th 2026, I dropped my American Bully off for day care and received a call saying that he had to be picked up because “he decided he didn’t like them anymore” after probing, I was advised he was being taken back through a hallway of dogs -a few of which where more aggressive (barking towards him - I presume) , appeared overwhelmed and stressed (rightfully so), and I was told “when I tried to redirect him he nipped at his leash”. After that there was nothing said about what they did. Just that we had to pick him up, he couldn’t stay there anymore, and that “maybe dogcare wasn’t for him” my dog had been going to dogtopia for the past / years and we only stopped because they returned him to me covered in urine after an overnight stay. We have never had any issues with him. The first 2-3 times we took him to ruff house, there were no issues, we even received his report card pictures with him perfectly fine. To insinuate that my dog has an issue all of a sudden and “dog day care may not be for him” was unprofessional, insensitive, and a clear sign that whoever was handling him has a severe lack of training and understanding for how to handle dogs. I will refrain from sharing my personal opinion about the reasons I think this person was unable to “handle” him but I think it’s important my experience is shared so people are aware of how some dogs are treated here at the Ruff house on bayside. My dog did nothing wrong, he was put in an uncomfortable, overwhelming situation, and then punished for it. Again, all I was told was that he “snapped at his leash when they tried to redirect him” I don’t know what happened afterwords, where they put him, and more importantly how they were able to do so if he was so uncooperative. The lack of willingness to explain the situation, have compassion for the stress they put him under and then blamed his reaction for, and then to call me and try to only say “he decided he doesn’t like us anymore” is unprofessional and not care any dog or dog parent deserves.

10/10. They took such great care of my dog. Jax came back clean and in good health. He didnt seem overwhelmed at all. I got to see pics of his stay and call whenever to check on him. I was so nervous because this was my first "baby" and they took phenomenal care of my Jax for 5 days! Thanks so much!! Also price was 10/10 as well! Not too expensive at all!

My two dogs stayed here when I had to find a kennel while we were at the Outer Banks for a week. I really like being able to book activities and 'room service' treats online, and that they could share an outdoor space. They did really well compared to how they are at my local kennel (in south Jersey). I appreciated the pictures that were uploaded each day. I wish they were closer to home so I could use them regularly.
