  Called to get information on grooming and the receptionist wasn’t very helpful or polite. So I guess I won’t be going to this location with my pups, mind you I’ve never been here before but based on what I experienced over the phone I know I will not be going.

  Groomer Emily A and other grooming staff member on 6/07/2026 displayed poor customer service and I will never return to this location to have my dog groomed again.

  Do yourself a favor and do not take your dog to the Petco grooming service in Virginia Beach. We are talking about a 24-pound, one-and-a-half-year-old Goldendoodle. I took him in for a bath and nail trim. After 3–4 hours, they called me to pick him up and said the service was complete. When I arrived, the first thing they did was charge me the full bill, which already felt strange. Only after I paid did they tell me they were unable to complete the service because my dog supposedly “tried to bite” during the nail trimming. They handed my dog back to me still damp, not dried, not brushed, and without his nails trimmed. Basically, they only got him wet. What upset me the most was that nobody contacted me while this was happening. Just like they were able to call, email, and text me to say he was “ready,” they could have also contacted me to explain the situation and try to find a solution. Maybe I could have come in to help calm or hold my dog so the service could be completed safely. Instead, they chose not to complete the service, still charged me for it, and then told me my dog was banned from returning. At the moment I stayed calm and left, but afterward I felt completely scammed, and deeply disappointed by the lack of ethics and professionalism. The stylist who handled my dog was Mackenzie R. Honestly, I do not feel they have the control, patience, or proper handling skills necessary to work with puppies or young dogs.

  We took our dog in for happy hour and when my husband mentioned he was going to go next door for 5 mins and she was rude to him rolled her eyes and seemed like we were such a burden. We will be driving further to go to another Petco who doesn’t make us feel like a burden. This wasn’t the first time they were rude.
