  This review is specifically about the assistant manager, James. I went to Petco because I have my dog’s food set up on an autoship subscription. Petco apparently uses DoorDash for the delivery, and according to the DoorDash app, my order was delivered to the wrong address. I went into the store to ask about getting a refund and showed them the delivery information. James told me the refund would have to go through customer service. I understood that and had no problem with being directed to customer service. My issue was the way he spoke to me. During the conversation, James said that I could be lying, which honestly shocked me. I had the DoorDash app right there showing that the order had been delivered to an address that was clearly not mine and he still said I could still be lying. Regardless of whether he personally had the ability to issue the refund, I do not think that is an appropriate way to speak to a customer. I asked to speak with the manager, and he initially told me that he was the manager. When I asked if there was another manager I could speak with, he then explained that he was actually the assistant manager and that the manager, Tabitha, was out on sick leave. What bothered me most was his attitude and lack of professionalism. An assistant manager should know how to handle an upset customer without suggesting that the customer may be lying, especially when I was showing him the delivery information from the DoorDash app. Petco may want to reconsider the level of customer service training being given to people placed in management positions. James was extremely rude, and this was not the kind of treatment I would expect from someone representing the store as an assistant manager.

  My shopping experience at Petco was somewhat frustrating. The store felt very crowded with merchandise, which made it overwhelming and difficult to navigate. At the same time, many shelves appeared scarce and had multiple items out of stock. The different sections were not clearly organized or laid out, making the store feel cluttered and as though items had simply been placed wherever there was room. Additionally, many products did not have prices clearly displayed, so I had to use the barcode scanner on my phone to check the prices. Overall, the store could benefit from better organization, clearer pricing, and more consistently stocked shelves to make the shopping experience much easier and more enjoyable.
