  We will never use Banfield again, this location or others, even for simple visits like vaccines or nail trims. I highly recommend other pet parents take their patronage elsewhere. When I called to inquire about appointments I was *offered* an in-room appointment rather than a drop-off appointment, which made the decision for us to go to Banfield over another vet. We specifically wanted an in-room appointment after moving nearly 1500 miles with our dog as we did not want him to be under any more stress than he already had experienced from the move, and we wanted to stay with him to make him more comfortable during the wait and the visit. However, when we went in for his appointment we were told there was no availability for in-room appointments after all. We did not receive any call before our appointment to advise us of this change. We reluctantly agreed to the drop off because he was in discomfort and it was implied to us that they would finish with him soon. Instead, our boy was cooped up in a kennel for nearly 5 hours until they finally saw him. Let me stress that this is not a criticism of the vet staff themselves. This is a criticism of clinic management and the company at large. This is a severe staffing and overbooking issue, as well as a communication issue. We were mislead initially and received no follow-up or ongoing communication, and as time went on we became more and more worried about our pet. This should have been a short visit just for vaccines and a nail trim that instead took all day. At this point I can only assume they didn't even have any in-room appointments in the first place and just use that as a way to get pet parents in the door, then turn around and change the terms of the appointment once owners are already in the building. I assume the lack of communication in this regard is corporate greed, and this company assumed (correctly) that had we known the truth we would have tried to find another vet to take our pet to. Instead, they denied us the chance to make an informed decision about his care. This company cares more about taking your money than the comfort of your pets. I have canceled appointments I had scheduled for our other pets and have declined follow-up appointments and further testing. Banfield will never get any more money from me and I will actively deter any other pet owners from using this company. All you had to do was tell us the truth.

  Dr Kite and all of the staff at Banfield Per Hospital on Laskin Rd in Va Beach, Va were amazing. They kept in close contact with me on Nala's condition, what needed to be done and the follow up. Unfortunately, we had to wait over the weekend for the x-rays to be read only bc we couldn't afford the quick return method with all of the other costs, but Dr Kite told us what she saw what she thought it was. First thing on Monday morning I received a call. I called back and talked to Dr Kite once again to confirm what the radiologist saw. She gave us a plan of action, got us the medicine we needed at the clinic and called in the other to our pharmacy, so it was less expensive. The entire staff was so kind and caring and Dr Kite expressed her heartbreak about Nala's diagnoses. Thank you Dr. KIte and team. Nala has made her way back over the rainbow and is now again chasing the bunnies, squirrels and possums and getting as many treats as she possibly can eat. 🌈🐾

  I've been taking Kayla, my dog, here ever since she was 8 weeks old. She is almost 3. I highly recommend the wellness plans they offer. It allows you to plan your money better for all the services your animal NEEDS to be healthy. This particular branches employees are THE BEST! They go above and beyond your expectations and your animal will be well taken care of. They are like family to us.

  All staff is very caring for the owners and the pets. They also have toys in the waiting room for my granddaughters along with treats for the children and the fury patients.

  The staff at Banfield laskin rd is the best!!! Always excellent customer service, which is an understatement. Everyone from the desk to the vets and everyone in between has made every experience for my dog and myself the most comforting and enjoyable as is possible. I recommend everyone to bring their pets there. I thank the staff so much, and keep up the good work!!!
