  This post will not do anything about this problem, however I'll advocate anyway. I'm an aquarium hobbyist and husbandrist, i have won excellence awards in fishkeeping. The condition of their Bettas at this store is unacceptable. BETTAS DO NOT BELONG IN CUPS. Putting a betta into a cup that small causes too much ammonia which is a chemical built up from waste that BURNS they're fins and bodies. Some of the Bettas had been in store for 3 months. Ammonia burns and fin burns were seen all over they're bodies. And due to this, the fish is seen as ugly and will never be sold. Petco needs to find a solution to stop the abuse of fish in their stores. Absolutely unacceptable.

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can't say enough great things about the Petco on Town Square Boulevard in Roanoke! Clayton, the manager, is absolutely exceptional — he consistently goes above and beyond not just for me, but for my entire family. His dedication to customer care is the kind of thing you rarely see anymore, and it never goes unnoticed. The staff here are some of the most knowledgeable and genuinely helpful people I've encountered at any pet store. Every single visit, they treat us like family rather than just customers. What really sets this location apart, though, is their heart for animals. Clayton and his team have reached out to us personally on multiple occasions when animals were abandoned or turned over to the store and needed rehoming. That kind of compassion — going out of their way to make sure those animals find good homes — speaks volumes about the character of this entire team. If you're in the Roanoke area and need anything pet-related, don't hesitate. This is the store, and Clayton and his crew are the reason why. Truly above and beyond, every time.

  These guys were spectacular. They went above and beyond to make sure that I had everything I wanted that they could provide.... Which was quite a bit. They took the extra time to make sure I understood what I was purchasing compared to other similar items. I really appreciate the patience and the employees going the extra mile to make sure that my store experience was positive and I tell you it will be repeated. Thanks.

  I always enjoy coming to the Petco here in Roanoke VA near the Golden Corral. Friendly, helpful, hard working people and you get to see other folks cute pups. I also adopted the BEST cat ever through their adoption program many many years ago.

  This place is rules and the staff there are super friendly and know their stuff. I only go to the Towne square location in Roanoke point blank period. It’s clean, stocked, and always an easy in and out. Thanks you guys for actually providing a quality service to the public. So many places these days just don’t care at all about their store, cleanliness, or quality of service. This is one that truly does. Give these people a raise 🙏
