- BBBrandiJul 21, 20261.0I scheduled a drop off appointment for my dog because I have a child in a wheelchair when I get there they tell me they can't do drop off that I have to stay with my son in a wheelchair that it was their mistake for letting me book a drop off appointment. While at this appointment we uncover that my dog has a rare ear infection so we scheduled an appointment exactly one week away that was supposed to be today at 11:00 to treat her ear infection. Well of course today I called to confirm the appointment and they have no record of it meanwhile I've already given my dog the sedative which made her throw up all night and this morning so they could treat her. Then they tell me well you can bring her but we can't see anything in our system so we don't know next steps to treat her. So this was supposed to be a drop off appointment so I'm just supposed to sit there with my son and my dog and do nothing? Never and I mean never take your pet here! They weren't concerned about my dog's ear infection which is apparently causing her ears to close up all they cared about was getting me off the phone which I sat on for 30 minutes by the way to get no answer other than you can come but we can't treat you. Worst that experience of my life. I will be taking her back for them to treat her ears because I'm not paying for another test at another vet and then I will never go to this place again. Do not go!

They are so helpful and will suggest things for me to try when I ask about an issue. I trust them completely with my dog. She has never been treated at another facility....we love Banfield in Mechanicsville, VA!
- SPshirl peytonApr 23, 20263.0I didn’t receive services. I called to see if my cat could be seen and they said no. I ended up taking her to urgent care. The 1 bad thing about Banfield is that if your pet needs to be seen the same day or following day they can never fit you in so you have to go to urgent care and pay a ton of money. That’s the main reason I’m not enrolled in Banfield wellness plan.

We believe that preventive care is the most effective way to keep your pet healthy throughout all stages of life. Our pet hospitals offer many preventive care treatments, including:

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
