I had switched vets to try to find a more affordable option, but I will be going back to my original vet, the cost is worth it apparently. I want to start by saying Dr. Heather Oltjen is amazing. Unfortunately I can't say the same for anything else. I was trying to get medication sorted for my pet. After months of trying two different methods, pills then a topical, at my last appt after being told her levels are still extremely high, I wanted to go back to the original pill method but with a higher dose, since the original dose did not being dow her levels.
Apparently either that is too confusing or worse the different vet that did help me, did not check my pets history. If she had, she would have known she was prescribing me the EXACT SAME STARTING DOSE that was already tried. To make matters worse, at first when I was confused, I simply wanted to know how much we were increasing the dose. I also wanted to use Chewy to fill my prescriptions as it is much cheaper. Not only was there backlash on me trying to do it with Chewy versus in house (about twice the cost), the cherry on top was when I realized what was happening with the dosing being the same and confronted the vet (after sending multiple emails, which were skimmed over as well as she was not up to date on what information I was trying to get), she was unable to admit she prescribed the same dose. Instead of owning up to her mistake and admitting she obviously did not look at my pets history (we had only been there since December, not like I'm asking for years worth of information) she avoided telling me the truth. I will NEVER be back.
After getting my history files sent to me, I went instead to speak with a Chewy vet online for $50 and in 15 minutes we had her correct dosage ready to be ordered for next day delivery. I will be going back to my original vet for the blood tests.

We have used Banfield & been on the Wellness Plan for over a decade with multiple dogs and enjoyable experiences at many other locations. About a year ago, we relocated and started using the Leesburg, Market St, location as our primary vet. I have waited about a year to fully size up this location.
If you are like most pet owners, wanting to find a vet office that takes care of your animal like it is one of their own is a top priority, this is not that location. Or maybe a vet office that is organized and operates consistently? Also not this place.
As other reviewers have noted, their are few redeeming qualities about this location other than that it is a vet office with an individual that has a doctorate in veterinary science. Although you are not permitted to meet with the vet during your visit so you are operating on faith that they thoroughly examined your animal and addressed your concerns.
Every visit is filled with long waiting times, unattended front desks, confused receptionists trying to upsell you after you've indicated your answer, inconsistent communication about vet findings, and an overall poor customer experience. I imagine the vet on site often daydreams about finding a new position as it is an uninspiring place to be in, even temporarily.
Most recently, I changed my credit card on file and within 20 hours of signing paperwork and picking up my dog, was left a voicemail that if I did not reach back out to pay the invoice, that was not provided to me at checkout, I would be "sent to collections"....for a $60 bill AND with the credit card already on file for Banfield to use. I find this to be a comical message to send to a decades-long customer for an error made by Banfield.
If you're reading between the lines here, this is a giant corporation that does not care to know your animals nor do they value your loyalty as a customer like a local vet office does.
My only regret is that I have not moved on to a different vet office sooner.

Banfield is starting to fall from glory, in my humble opinion. When they make a procedural recommendation, I would council you to follow-up with questions and try to learn what is essential vs. “nice to have but it will cost a lot.” Then, when I really needed customer service, I found phone calls to be frustrating and that they were really relying on me to make all of the follow-through; even for matters that they said that they would take care of. Bottom line, look out for yourself.
If it’s forecasted to be slick outside, call ahead. Most likely they’re not open.

I have been having issues with all of my 6 pets with Banfield for over a year regarding payments and has been an unresolved issue so far. I keep getting charged for their monthly payment plans but their accounts keep getting put on "hold" or "inactive" because apparently they haven't received any of the payments that i have been charged for and have proof of for every single month. I have reached out to the hospital and they couldn't help me, contacted customer service and was told to email my bank statements where it shows that i got charged, i did and then got told they couldn't help me and to reach customer service again. My pets are not able to be seen when sick because of the account not being active and the hospital not being able to see them due to this. I am sick and tired of not being able to treat my pets when sick even though i am getting charged for their plans every month and the hospital denying care or making me re-pay the "balance" on my account that i already got charged for TWICE. It is absolutely ridiculous how this has been an ongoing matter and nothing has been resolved. They also keep removing my card off of my account and charging me a fee for not being able to process the payment after THEY took the card off my file. Tried to cancel my plans with some of my pets and got told that i have to pay the remaining balance of the entire plan so i still end up paying for nothing and stuck with them.
