  This was my puppy’s first professional grooming experience, and I was very specific about what I wanted. I instructed the groomer not to cut the hair on his body. Instead, I asked that his paws be neatly trimmed, his nails clipped, his ears cleaned and trimmed, and his face professionally groomed and shaped. Unfortunately, the finished result fell far below what I believe is a reasonable standard for professional grooming. My puppy’s face was left uneven and poorly shaped, with areas that appeared haphazardly trimmed rather than carefully groomed. His ears and paws also lacked the clean, finished appearance I specifically requested. He looked like he had been cut with kiddie scissors.l and with no care, regard or attention to detail. What made the experience particularly frustrating, however, was the groomer’s response when I expressed my dissatisfaction. I asked him directly whether the finished groom represented his best work. He replied, “Yes, this is my best.” I responded that if this was truly his best work, then perhaps this was not the profession for him. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or offering to correct any of the issues, he simply replied, “I think the dog looks fine.” That response was unacceptable to me. A customer should not have to convince a professional groomer that uneven, unfinished work deserves attention. Even if the groomer personally believed the result was satisfactory, once I expressed that the service did not meet the instructions I had provided, I expected some level of concern, professionalism, and effort to resolve the issue. Instead, I felt that my concerns were dismissed. I am not expecting perfection. I am, however, expecting professionalism, attention to detail, and accountability when a customer raises a legitimate concern. Unfortunately, I did not receive those things during this visit.   We’ve always had Cheyanne and she is so nice and talks to the dogs when we arrive. She is very good at her job and my dogs always look so clean and groomed when I pick them up. I’d recommend Cheyanne! However, i’m not sure how appts work … I think they take on too many dogs for the number of appts.

  Xavier is absolutely amazing! We’ve always used Petco but second time that we’ve used him in giving our 4 dogs baths and he always takes his time to greet them, and knows their names personally, he takes his time great us and always ask if we have any concerns prior to him starting and after. I can not speak much more highly of how much of a valuable asset the adds to the King George Grooming Team!!!!
