  I recently had a grooming appointment for my dog Hampton at Petco, and while the grooming itself turned out fine, the customer service experience left a lot to be desired. My appointment was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. The grooming salon opens at 8:00 a.m., and I was waiting at the door trying to figure out who to contact for check in. Around 8:15, another customer arrived, and the associate opened the door. I introduced Hampton, but the associate immediately stated she had to take care of “her person” first because Hampton was not her appointment. I asked if Hampton could at least be checked in and placed up front until my groomer arrived, especially since the general store was not open yet for assistance. Her response was basically that my groomer “should be here at 8:30.” In my opinion, the scheduling logistics need improvement. If appointments begin at 8:30, groomers should ideally arrive early enough to properly prepare and receive their clients. Customers should not be standing outside confused about the process or walking in alongside the groomer at the exact appointment time. What made the interaction more frustrating was that after initially acting as though Hampton was not her responsibility, the associate then focused heavily on correcting Hampton’s weight category and increasing the grooming price because she weighs 59 pounds. While I understand policies and pricing structures, it felt inconsistent to suddenly become deeply involved once there was an opportunity to adjust pricing. Again, the grooming itself was perfectly fine, and Hampton looked great afterward. My issue was primarily with the customer service experience and the overall check in process.

  Most of the time I’m satisfied with the service received but this last appointment did not sit well with me. I always provide a written description of what I need done and only two of the seven things were completed. I was very disappointed with the service. Normally three to four hours are required for service and this time my baby was ready in less than two hours and came home just the way she left as if nothing was done but a bath.

  Rebecca has been the nicest and most fabulous groomer that Cody has had for over three years. He loves her and so do we. God bless you, Sweetie..

  April did a fantastic job on grooming her. She’s a nervous dog, but I felt comfortable leaving her with her.

  Rebecca is simply the best, Hampton VA.Meech was getting butcherd by every mobile grooming service in the area because we tried them all. I'm sure we're on cut 5 or 6 and we've always been satisfied.
