  I took my cat to be euthanized and it was mostly a peaceful experience, except for the awful behavior from one of the techs. Dr. Kartashova and the first tech/receptionist we spoke to were fantastic and very quiet and respectful of what we were going through. I was immediately presented with paperwork that I was too stunned to read fully. All I knew was I wanted to take my cat home with me, so I was shown that option and I signed. The woman who came in later, however, was unbelievably rude and just plain awful to watch as she manhandled my poor cat after the procedure was finished. She moved him around like he was a doll, lifting his head and limbs like he was not a dearly loved family member to us. When we asked for pawprints in ink (we were not made aware of the option for clay molds until it was far too late) she acted like it was an inconvenience and gave us two papers with lazily done smears of ink. We were handed a dirty plastic folder with a poorly shaved clump of fur as a memory. She offered to let us take him home in the excrement covered towel that he passed away on. I have never been so upset as I was watching her drag around my sweet kitty. This was the first bad experience I had at this practice, but it was a glaringly awful one. What was supposed to be a private, sad moment with my family was disrupted constantly by this woman and her attitude. I am completely sympathetic to how awful it is to have to put down animals and deal with that often, but some compassion for the family goes a long way. The rest of the staff were fantastic and I want to thank them for treating my cat well over the years.

  My cat BG is, let’s say “spicy”. She is the quintessential scary cat who runs and hide if she hears a doorbell or a stranger’s voice. Yet, she turns into “demon cat” at the vet. Thus, we avoid the vet unless it is absolutely necessary. Today was our first visit and I am impressed. She meowed all the way there but once at the clinic- she “calmed” down. She did hiss at the vet and we needed at vet tech to help BUT, she did not require sedation, the staff was extra kind to her, and she did not draw blood. As a cat parent, I couldn’t be more excited to finally find a vet clinic that is not afraid her. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!
