- ASAlize Severson2 days ago1.0Banfield has frustrated me lately. My dog needs regular gland expressions and up until about a month ago I was only charged the 45 dollars for gland expression. When I went back in July to get it done expecting to pay the 45 dollar fee I was hit with a vet bill of over 200 dollars simply for getting his glands expressed. They said they HAVE to charge and office visit fee of 170 for the appt on top of the gland expression fee. Which is ridiculous if I’m not even in a room and they have my dog for less than 5 mins. Not only that but in the past for drop offs they’ve had my dog for hours with no call communications. I had to call multiple times to get any information about the appt. I’m so sick of them and they charge up the butt. Honestly save your money Banfield is a scam. Was able to find a much better vet with much more affordable pricing that’s talked about upfront and not all of the sudden changed. Good riddance.

- MMMegJul 22, 20262.0I'm giving two stars because Dr. Gold is a wonderful vet. I wish he wasn't with Banfield. If it weren't for Dr. Gold, this location would be getting zero stars because of the tech during our visit. I tried to explain that the previous vet in Sandy had set me up with the Banfield Foundation due to being well below the poverty line. The tech said they only offered the Optimum plan at $19.99. This is not true and is not how the Banfield Foundation operates. She informed me I can cancel anytime, without penalty because it was a monthly plan. I went to do that today and found out it's a one year contract. If I cancel I will have to pay the remaining months upfront, or I continue to pay the monthly fee. Misrepresentation of a contract is fraud. Either this tech was poorly trained causing her to unknowingly engage in fraud, or she knowingly, and willfully, misrepresented the terms, taking advantage of my cat being seriously ill and my exhaustion. My cat is not a commodity to make money from. After getting multiple calls, texts, emails - sometimes on the same day - pressuring me to get my cat into an appointment and now this? I will no longer support Banfield as a whole.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
