    I was in there today I needed crickets and there was zero employees anywhere around so I grabbed my 4 crickets and take them to the register where all the employees were chilling in the office. The cashier says to me next time I need to get a employee to get my crickets for me. Pretty lame experience today. I

    I've used a number of pet grooming services over the years for my 13 year old PET toy poodle. Most have been okay and the experience always seemed transactional. Kayt from Petco has ruined all other services for my pet. She cared about the final outcome with the cut. She explained in detail the process and the reasoning behind everything she would do for my pet. The dog was handled with care and returned to us better than I've previously experienced with other providers. Kayt really cared about the outcome of this small experience. If you want a place where the grooming experience seems to be more than just a transactional experience, where you walk away more than satisfied with the outcome, then this is the place for your pet.

    I had a concerning experience at this store involving what I believe were misleading enrollment practices for Petco's Vital Care Plan. At checkout, I was signed up for multiple monthly subscription services under the impression that I was simply joining a free store rewards program. At no point was I informed that these enrollments included recurring fees or charges. I only became aware of the subscriptions after receiving a confirmation email and noticing unexpected charges on my card. I would not have agreed to any paid services had this been clearly disclosed at the time of purchase.

    I rarely take the time to write reviews, and when I do, it is usually to support businesses after a positive experience. Unfortunately, this is the first time I feel compelled to leave a negative review due to an extremely disappointing experience at Petco in Saratoga Springs. I have an 8-month-old puppy who is familiar with grooming services, and I decided to try this location for convenience. From the beginning, the experience was problematic. I was quoted a price over the phone and scheduled the appointment based on that information. Upon arrival, however, staff disputed the quote they had mistakenly provided and instead of honoring the price they had given, they insisted on charging more. If there is uncertainty around pricing, quotes should not be given over the phone to schedule appointments. After some back-and-forth, I adjusted the services to fit the revised pricing. The customer service was consistently unprofessional and dismissive. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told it would not make a difference or that the manager was unavailable, which is concerning in itself. Despite the poor initial interaction, I chose to proceed with the appointment. When I returned three hours later to pick up my dog, I found him in an unacceptable condition. He had urinated in his crate and was visibly soiled—his paws and belly were wet with urine. It appeared that he had been left sitting in it. Instead of properly cleaning him, staff simply wiped him down with a cloth and I got him in that state. I had paid for a grooming and bath service, yet my dog was handed back dirty. Despite them handing my dog back to me already urinated on inside the store, which is completely unacceptable when you are paying specifically for a service to clean your pet, no proper solution was offered. When I raised this issue, I was told they did not have time to clean him again. I asked to speak with the manager once more and was told there was nothing that could be done and that I should contact corporate. I requested a refund and was only partially reimbursed for minor services, like material, while the main service—the bath—was not refunded, despite not being properly delivered. Before writing this review, I made multiple attempts to resolve the situation. I visited the store four times and was promised follow-up that never happened. I also contacted corporate twice, only to be redirected back to the same store manager, who responded in a rude and dismissive manner. At that point, it became clear that not only the store but also corporate demonstrated a lack of professionalism. This entire experience reflects a serious lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic communication skills. I will not be returning to this location again, nor am I willing to subject myself to being treated this way by staff who lack basic communication skills. Overall, this experience has made me lose confidence in the brand, and I have no intention of taking my dog to any of their stores in the future. I strongly advise others to consider alternative grooming providers.
