I’ve been going here with my dog for almost 10 years and I have always loved this place. As of lately their customer service up front on the phones is horrible. Every single time I call they put me on hold for 15+ minutes every time without even hopping back on for a sec to apologize & say sorry just a few more minutes. I have had to hang up multiple times because they have forgotten about me on hold. I have called & left voicemails thinking they would call me back & they never do.
I had a scenario today where I called because I needed to know if I should bring my dog in based off of what was going on with him. They didn’t even ask my name, my pets name. They just said “we can’t get you in today, you’ll have to call somewhere else”. Keep in mind I have been on the Optimus wellness plan for almost 10 years with my dog. A little empathy would have been nice or a simple recommendation of what I should do next, based off of what was going on.
If they’re genuinely so busy up front that they have to put people on hold for 15+ minutes anytime you call, no matter what time it is, you guys should consider hiring more people so the front desk staff can quit treating their job like a call center. It’s making me consider finding a new vet.

They called and cancelled my appointment because and their exact response was "Doctor Hanley is wanting to leave early today". I am going on vacation early tomorrow morning and my dog needed one injection for the trip. I literally begged them to please keep the appointment or I would even be willing to come earlier and they didn't care. Just kept repeating that the Doctor wanted to do her paperwork and leave early despite this being hours before they closed and having multiple available appointments still open on the Banfield app. I will never come to this location again and don't recommend it to pet parents who are wanting good and reliable care for their pets. Super frustrated and disappointed.

I've been a customer for over 10 years, and this experience was completely unacceptable.
Your office constantly pushes customers to schedule appointments online, so that's exactly what I did. I live an hour away and was already halfway to my appointment when I got a phone call telling me you couldn't actually see my cat. By that point, I had no choice but to turn around, drive all the way back home, and drop my cat off. The entire ordeal made me late for work.
What's the point of offering online scheduling if the appointments aren't accurate? Customers shouldn't have to pay for your scheduling mistakes with wasted time, gas, and missed work. If your online scheduling system isn't reliable, then stop allowing customers to book appointments through it until it's fixed.
After being a loyal customer for more than a decade, I expected much better. My time is just as valuable as yours, and this experience showed a complete lack of respect for it. This was completely avoidable and should never have happened.
To make matters worse, I was planning to enroll my newly adopted cat in another Wellness Plan, but after this experience I'm seriously reconsidering. Between my four pets and years of loyalty, I've invested a lot in your practice. If this is how long-time customers are treated, I'll be looking for a veterinary clinic that actually values my time, keeps its commitments, and cares about its clients as much as it expects them to care about their pets.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
