This should be everyone’s first stop for anything related to aquatic life. The guy who runs the show there really knows his stuff. He will point you in the right direction every time. Petco Draper is now first on my list

Deeply Disappointed: Poor Communication Cost Us 1 hour and No Service. I am a rescue dog owner. My dog is large, has significant anxiety when she is left in cage, and has a history of breaking out when left alone — something any responsible pet owner would disclose upfront. And I did, twice. When booking our appointment online, I included a detailed written warning about her behavior. Then, when dropping her off in person at the store, I communicated it again directly to staff. Both times, we were told it was fine and they accepted her. For context, we have used multiple local groomers over the years. Every single one of them, once notified of her anxiety and cage behavior, had no issue accommodating her. It is not an unreasonable situation — groomers who actually work with it handle it just fine. We recently moved to the area and, under time pressure, chose Petco despite it being more expensive than the local grooming services we usually rely on — services that offer more personalized, cage-free care for anxious dogs. We had no other option that day, so we trusted your team’s assurances and made the 30-minute drive. Twenty minutes after returning home, we received a call saying they were refusing to groom her. The reason they gave? Exactly what I had warned them about — twice — both in the online booking notes and again in person at drop-off. The very same reason they had already acknowledged and accepted. We had to turn around and drive back another 30 minutes to pick her up — 1 hour of round trips, wasted, with nothing to show for it. I fully understand that a business has the right to refuse service. What I cannot accept is that this refusal came after two explicit notifications were acknowledged and accepted by staff. If my dog’s situation was not something Petco could accommodate, that determination should have been made before I left the store — not after I was already 30 minutes down the road. This was unprofessional, inconsiderate of my time, and ultimately failed my dog, who had already gone through the stress of being brought in for nothing. I will not be returning, and I would caution other owners of anxious or large dogs to seek out local, specialized groomers who are actually equipped — and willing — to work with dogs like mine.

poor deceased turtle floating around the tank, hitting the glass with its skin shedding and floating around the water. couldn’t find an employee to tell because there was only one at the checkout area working through a line of people. for a place whose center of business is animal care, the live animals should have more toys and real life environment cultures like real rocks with the turtle cage instead of a picture of rocks. nonetheless maybe regular sweeps through the cages to ensure the animals are at least alive and breathing. sad to me. i get my dog groomed here and this was the first time i actually walked through the store and i just felt sad for the animals ;(

Okay store. Have all major brands. Kind of annoying to find dog stuff sometimes due to the tight aisles. Staff not always available. Crickets they sell are a gamble. I've received the wrong size crickets and I've received crickets that all died within 10 hours. One batch of crickets were all missing a back leg, strange. Hours are helpful - that they're open late or later.
