I've been going to this location for almost 2 years because it's so close to home, and over that time I've watched the grooming salon struggle. I've personally managed teams for over 20 years, and I haven't seen strong leadership or any sort of good management here. The salon manager is often unavailable when she's needed. When I've come in with questions, she has been nowhere to be found. Staff have told me more than once that she shows up over an hour late, even when a situation needs a manager. The effects are hard to miss. Employees have told me they're overbooked, underpaid, and overworked, and turnover is high, which is fitting for what I've noticed on how operations work in the salon. Over the past few months I've heard a growing number of customers say their dogs sat in a kennel for hours, in some cases up to 8 hours like I've experienced twice here with my own dog, before being groomed. I was also told the salon's most talented groomer was let go recently, and in my opinion that was a real loss. While the store itself, not the grooming salon, is amazing and full of wonderful staff and a great manager, this isn't only a store-level problem. In my opinion, Petco corporate doesn't understand how to properly run a grooming salon and should re-visit the basics of business operations. During my time coming to this location, I've seen very good, wonderful groomers leave, and that's the result of poor management at both the salon and corporate level. Overbooking staff, underpaying them, and losing good groomers clearly points to a company-wide management issue, and this location is a clear example of it. I believe it's a big part of why the company has struggled. I won't be returning, and neither will friends and family of mine who've seen the same issues at this location and other Petco locations. There are better-run salons nearby that will get my business. I hope Petco takes a serious look at how this salon is being run, and doesn't fall back on the same kind of poor corporate decisions that, in my opinion, come from being completely out of touch with how to run a grooming salon efficiently as well as standards of the grooming industry. The groomers and other staff outside the salon here do wonderful work, very knowledgeable and are great to chat with. They deserve far better than the difficult conditions they're working under.

I guess they fired all of the competent groomers. I really liked Olivia, She did a great job on my dogs and she's gone, and then I started seeing Sabrina & Lia, who both also did a fantastic job, and now they're both gone. I don't know what has gone on with this store this year. It takes longer and longer for my dogs to get done. I understand it's a busy store, but there's no reason my dog should be dropped off. First thing in the morning and isn't done until 5 or 6 in the afternoon or later. And that's assuming they've even been touched to begin with! I think there is a serious management issue here. I've never seeing a store with such high turnover in the grooming salon. It is absolutely ridiculous. I will never be back.
