Banfield Pet Hospital® offers Deworming. Deworming is the administration of medication to eliminate internal parasites (such as roundworms, tapeworms, and hookworms) from an animal's body.

Gastrointestinal illness diagnosis and treatment

Gastrointestinal illness treatment at Banfield Pet Hospital® starts with identifying the underlying cause – which can range from dietary issues to infections – and then providing appropriate therapy such as diet changes, fluid therapy, or medication.

General dentistry

All Banfield Pet Hospital® locations offer basic dental care for pets. This may include professional cleanings, dental examinations, or oral surgeries to maintain oral health and prevent diseases.

General surgery

Surgery is a broad category in veterinary medicine. At Banfield Pet Hospital ®, surgeries may include routine spaying and neutering to common operations, performed to address health issues or injuries in animals.

Microchipping

At Banfield Pet Hospital®, we provide microchipping for pets. This process involves inserting a chip under the pet's skin, with a unique ID that can help reunite lost pets with their owners.

Parasite control

Parasite treatment at Banfield Pet Hospital® may involve administering medication to eradicate and prevent parasites, such as fleas, ticks, and worms, that infest or infect animals.

Spaying and neutering

At Banfield Pet Hospital®, spaying (for females) and neutering (for males) are surgical procedures performed under anesthesia. These procedures can help prevent unwanted breeding and may reduce the risk of certain cancers and behavioral issues in pets.

I am devastated by the loss of my 2-year-old Great Pyrenees, who passed away on May 30. Between July and March, her globulin levels spiked from a normal 3.2 g/dL to an elevated 4.9 g/dL, coinciding with sudden vision loss, severe muscle atrophy, and profound lethargy. Despite these severe symptoms and clear bloodwork markers, Banfield did not choose to offer or recommend further testing, or infectious disease panels when those levels first spiked. When she developed rapid breathing, we took her to another veterinarian for a second opinion. They took X-rays that revealed lung nodules, and we finally got a probable diagnosis of systemic histoplasmosis—but by then, it was too late to save her. When a young dog experiences such a drastic decline, you expect your veterinary team to be proactive. Banfield’s missed opportunity to investigate her changing blood values early on left us without critical answers when time mattered most. Rest in Peace our beautiful Zuri

I have used Banfield at Village Blanco for 6 years. Every person I interact with and every vet that cares for my Niko has been great, especially when he started having seizures. Niko actually gets excited when we get there because they treat him so well. AJ at the front desk has been there the whole time I've been using them and has always been friendly, helpful and quick to help take care of matters. I truly appreciate this team. My only complaint is it is frequently difficult to get prescriptions called in to HEB but it always gets worked out.

I LOVE this team. I have been with them since August of 2022 and I hope I don't ever have to use another vet. They are always so kind and welcoming, and my dog loves them too. She doesn't get scared or anxious when we pull up, and she's happy to trot right in. The vets are always great at explaining what's going on and treatment plans. The techs are also always amazing. I have the wellness plan for my dog and it has absolutely been worth it. Can't say enough good things about this team and I appreciate the love they give my dog.

This banfield location is awesome. Dr Sarah Jane Mckinstry is a class act and there’s no one else but the regular vets in this practice that I would trust with the care of my pets. Dr Harlan is very caring as is Selena the office manager. AJ, Andi and Emily are always so helpful. Actually everyone that’s actively working there right now is amazing. I appreciate everyone and would recommend this location to anyone who needs a practice that goes above and beyond on the regular. Thank you Banfield Blanco staff for all that you do. You are all very appreciated.
